I didn't post anything sooner because I had to pick up my nephew since my sister (who picked me and
ryoko4 up from the airport) had the cold/flu. I only had about 3-4 hours to check my 84 messages from lj, check my email, and browse lj comms for any mentioning of Y-con; and trying to get at least an hour's worth of sleep since ryoko and I took the red eye flight back and I barely got any sleep at all.
Anywhooo, about my first Y-con trip. To be honest, I was a little disappointed at the disorganization of some events. Such as if you wanted to go to the bishoushen auction, amv contests and other main events you had to stand in line to get tickets for them, and not all at once either. I think that should've been done on Friday when attendees registered for their badge and wristband instead of being on Saturday, making everyone stand in line, missing other panels taking place. I so have a little complaint to file to the organizers of the con. Even though I didn't even have a GREAT time, I still had fun meeting other fangirls from lj like
mssupafan face to face for the first time. 'Twas fun meeting you at last, girl! *waves*
The only REAL fun I had was eating some Japanese food like
tonkatsu,
anpan and
taiyaki. I tried the chocolate filling one and it was so warm and fresh! It smelt like a waffle. *swoons* The
mochi ice cream was SO good, it almost tasted like cold marshmallows. I also bought some souvenirs such as postcards for my sisters, cellphone charms for
tiger_salad, El and another friend, and a Chibi Totoro for Boo. My little regret was that I didn't have enough money to buy a few more gifts for my other friends because I really wish I could share some pieces of awesome of Japantown. ;__; I had more fun at Japantown than at the convention. DDD:
Oh, and another little "gift" I got when
ryoko4 and I were trying to head back south to the hotel was a traffic ticket because I passed a red light, which I really didn't see. It says that I promised to appear in court. D: How the fuck do they expect me to do that? A fine I can understand, but to appear in court? I'll call up the fuckers tomorrow, explain myself and hopefully I'll be let off with either a warning or a fine.
