I just saw A Single Man with Colin Firth and Julianne Moore at the Tampa theatre with my older sis, who happens to be a movie geek. No, really. She's, like, her own IMDB!
Firth plays an English professor who lost his male lover and contemplated suicide throughout the day, but things didn't go as he intended after a couple of encounters with a Spanish (male) prostitute and one of his students. The movie didn't seem that long, not even two hours long. Maybe because the story was happening in one day. The music was fantastic, kinda Philip Glass-ish, but it was actually by a different composer. Either way, the music was beautiful.
My sis and I were sort of late because we were trying to find the parking garage and had to walk all the way to the movie theatre, which was a scary thing because downtown Tampa at night creeps me out. DX We missed about the first 10 minutes of the movie, but I'll probably see it again on DVD. At least I don't have to wait too long for an independent film to come out on DVD.
But yeah, after the movie, I said to sis, "I wanna read the book, dammit." Gonna have to check with my local library...
