It's disappointing when certain friends and family no longer exhibit any interest in sharing and closeness. I know that well myself. Those changes in relationships are usually hurtful and often bewildering. I think that people would be a little less stressed if they didn't concentrate so much on what others do or don't do around a holiday and focus instead on what happens the other 364 days of the year. The Christmas holiday in particular seems to create a lot of demands and expectations, and as many disappointments go with that as well as joyful celebrations.

I hope you get to visit that cousin with the three teenage daughters soon! I'm sure that each day brings new adventures and experiences to her life! ;-)
