My eldest son turned 13 yesterday. I told him that this birthday was much easier for me than on the day he was born! I enjoyed myself much more yesterday, we ate dinner out and saw a movie. Now, having him was a blessing, but I was more able to enjoy his birth this time!
Today, we spent the afternoon celebrating the first birthday of our neighbor's daughter. What a sweetie! It was a typical first birthday celebration. A bunch of adults eating, drinking, and talking with a few kids playing and the birthday girl fussing for a nap! I remember those days so well! When they moved here, she was about 7 months old and now she's walking all over the place, what a difference! They do grow up fast!
Now, we're unwinding from a busy weekend. Dave has a cold and is already in bed, hoping he gets some sleep tonight! I'm ready for bed myself and plan on hitting the sack in less than an hour. Must be ready to face the job tomorrow morning. It's time for fiscal year-end work...I've got two weeks to get all my projects reconciled and balanced. Ooh, so much fun! It will be a race to the finish line, I'm sure!
