Congrats and welcome! Always great to see Hunterites in APO. I personally know only of a few others who pledged- and they were all at Cornell in the late 1980s-early 1990s.

Thanks for the welcome.

Cornell?

Hah!

So some things never change. Hunter is STILL sending an absurd amount of students to CORNELL (tho truthfully it's the number of kids getting into Harvard that annoys me more LOL ).

if I remember the 1987 stats:

190 graduates

15 to Harvard (#1 school for fall 87 matriculation, that I know)

I think about 75 to Ivy Leagues overall.

Although I never even applied to Harvard, I did tour the campus in August 1986, and a photo of me there ended up being my photo in Annals.

If I remember correctly, 35 got into Harvard (we had an ASSLOAD of legacy admits)from Hunter '04.

A lot of people were upset. The IVYs are adopting a new policy when it comes to Hunter. We apparently cancel each other out. Nowadays, it's a miracle if we send one person to schools like Brown and Yale (where 42 applied and only 3 got in).

The Ivy League shares admissions info? That's not right- that actually may violate educational confidentiality law.

The policy doesn't make sense to me. Why would Yale toughen standards on admitting Hunter and let them go to another school?
