All his life, Severus Snape has been told tales of his grand
mother's ancestral home.
It is the one thing that seems to make his mother
happy- the knowledge that, whatever her husband might say, it hasn't been all
that long since her ancestors were lording it over her husbands.
Now he is there. He has gone to the church yard first,
wanting to see the setting of the stories his mother told him, about passion
and betrayal and a man gone so mad with love that he dug up his dead love’s
coffin. The names and dates stand before him. His great-great-great
grandmother, the man she married, and the man who loved her beyond all reason.
