CSI goes Dexter.... oh, puuuleeaaze!

So apparently, Laurence Fishburne will try to fill the gap when William Peterson (Grissom) leaves the show towards the middle of next season. But his character won't replace Grissom per se as he won't be the team's new boss. So are they replacing Grissom or not?! *scratches head*

Anyway... normally I wouldn't really care about this as I don't even watch the original CSI, only CSI:Miami and sometimes CSI:NY. But this little piece of info has grabbed my attention:

Laurence Fishburne is set to replace William Peterson as star of CSI next season, according to TV Guide. But he won't be the new boss. He'll play a DNA expert who comes into the CSI as an outsider, CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler revealed.

Here's the twist: As a DNA expert, he has identified a common profile among serial killers - in his own genes.

That's not a twist, that's a rip-off from the show Dexter! As I explained in one of my earlier posts, Dexter is a forensic expert but he's also a serial killer. You see what I'm getting at? CBS ought to be ashamed for copycatting such an amazing and unique show. And the worse part is, I think they're the ones airing Dexter on regular TV... I hope Showtime sues them... or Jeff Lindsay who invented the character of Dexter. Or both...
