Again I must apologize...life keeps getting in the way of LJ updates. I really don't know what to do about my work. Some days I love it, some days I hate it. I really don't like anyone I work with. The money is terrible. The travel time can be frustrating. For the most part though they leave me alone to do my job and that is what I like about it. That and the extremely casual atmosphere. Still I really don't think it is for me and yes I am looking. I just won't take something unless it really and genuinely is a positive move forward. Also, I need to be sure that the new job doesn't have overtime...I'm taking a couple of DE courses now and I plan on continuing with that for at least the next 2-5 years to finish off a couple of diplomas and a degree.
As for the rest of my life, hmmm...what's been going on? The condo fiasco...some of the units (approx 7) in my building (huge building - probably over 150 suites) were treated for bed bugs. Thankfully mine is fine (but i knew that...). However, because a couple of the units near mine were affected my unit had to be given the "preventative" treatment which turned out to be such a hassle. I'm not going into detail but suffice to say I'm glad that is over with.
More positive was attending the Chapters/Indigo Rick Riordan event. For those of you who don't know, RR is the author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series (and the subsequent Heroes of Olympus series...and the Kane Chronicles...). He is my JK Rowling...as a Greek mythology loving classicist I'd rather Percy than Harry any day. It turned out to be a great lecture and the accompanying a/v presentation was rather enlightening. Those German book covers are atrocious...just sayin'. A the event I was fortunate to receive a free 'Camp Jupiter' purple t-shirt....SWAG bonus! (OK I really should have gone for the Camp Half Blood one...but purple...SPQR....laurel leaf crown....how could I resist?). I'm rereading the Heroes of Olympus series now. Ahh youth! Where were these books when I was a teenager?
More negative was the Doctor Who Series Seven Part 1 season finale (I'm not even sure if that is what it should be called). Really? That was it? It seemed kind of blah. Honestly...I expected more of a finale for Rory and Amy. Even the Weeping Angels weren't that impressive. Remember when Rose and Donna left.....now THOSE were finales. And now all the lucky people in the UK are watching Merlin Season Five...while I wait patiently for it to air here in January. Ho...hum. And speaking of British series NOT showing in Canada, there is not a peep as to when The Hollow Crown will air here?? Anyone? Anyone?
With the returning North American series now all pretty much back in full swing I'm so happy to have back OUAT. I forgot how much I LOVE that show. There can never be enough of Rumpelstiltskin, Charming, the Mad Hatter or Mulan IMO. I like the premiere of Arrow but could give or take Beauty and the Beast. I was on the fence at first about Copper but it is filling the Sunday-night-Game-of-Thrones-Lost Girl-True Blood void quite nicely. I'm not sure if I'll continue watching The Vampire Diaries though as it keeps getting progressively more lame...or maybe it's just because I can't tolerate Elena's bad acting any longer. Person of Interest is still brilliant as is Hawaii Five 0. Quite truthfully I think Grimm just keeps getting better and better. Big Bang Theory...when did Amy become the highlight of the show? That just seems wrong. And get Howard back to earth, pronto. I'm tired of him in space...unless he bumps into Doctor Who, of course.
