Some 2011 firsts....
Finished my first ebook of 2011...The Scarlet Letter. I didn't expect to like this novel since the premise was a bit silly....I mean really, how difficult would it be to just leave the community and start a life somewhere else? But of course then there would be no story. Once I got past that initial plot loophole and read the book it turned out to be decent enough. Not worth reading again but still not as bad as I thought it was going to be. One thing I am grateful of is not having to live in that Puritan society. Ugh, horrid. Now on to the Jane Austen marathon...at least her stuff is a little more uplifting.
Also watched my first dvd rental of 2011...Eat, Pray, Love. All I can say is I hope the book was better. Really, there were so many positives going for this story but I just couldn't get into the movie. It seemed far too contrived. Oh well.
