The time change to Daylight Savings this weekend is wreaking havoc with my day. I am so tired right now. I don’t understand it. I can travel through various time zones and never get jet lag but switch around one hour when I am at home and I am screwed. *shrugs*
On the tennis front, I pity the poor organizers of the
Paris Masters. The seeded players have dropped out en masse. The top five players registered to play in this tournament are Gonzalez, Davydenko, Robredo, Blake and Berdych (oh how it hurts to type that vile name). Yes, you read correctly - those are the TOP FIVE competing at this tourney. No Rogelio, no Rafa, no Ljubicic, no Roddick… and this is a Masters Tournament…with international video coverage!!!!!???? Even more pathetic is the fact that F-Lo didn’t qualify!!! *facepalm* Feli, does the word “consistency” mean anything to you???
Why no Rafa? = torn ligament…4 mm…lower ribcage *fangirl squee* For your swooning pleasure…his
interview from Stade 2…a.k.a. … bonus = Gasquet *subdued semi-fangirl squee*)
Why no Roger? = he claims he is “exhausted”. I claim he withdrew from the tournament once he found out the boy toy wasn’t going to be there. No, ahem, *cough* competition *cough* for him. Seriously, he probably is quite tired. He has played a lot of back to back tourneys and, unlike the mortal players around him, because of his constant victories, he plays through the entire week of the events into the finals. I’m certain he’ll return next week for the Shanghai Masters Cup with the other top seven players. Rafael, hopefully will not be there, for his sake. Yes he has earned his spot in the top eight and I’d love to see him play, but I really would rather he just relax and start out the new year completely 100% healthy. Did I mention I am more than willing to assist him with any therapy necessary to ensure his recovery??? I am available...24/7...to accommodate his every need and desire...
