We are sort of in limbo right now with our internet service so I have to make this post kind of brief as I’m not sure how long service will be available.
The silly things that made me feel good:
RM class cancelled - Received an email that my RM class is cancelled tonight. *kelebrations* So that means we have officially finished the first half of the course …already…in only two and a half weeks. Now THAT’S the way a course should progress! Quiz has been moved from Tuesday to Thursday next week = extra time to make notes and study!!
UT Registration - Yesterday I went to UT and applied for registration in their summer program - officially. Now I shall await receipt of the spiffy registration package they will be mailing out to me. *twiddles thumbs*
UW 4th Year Course - I received the outline of the Horace course from UW and it looks pretty decent after all - 75% of the mark is a 4-5000 word essay and the final 25% is a two hour exam. That’s it. And one of the essay topics is 'the representation of women and goddesses in Horace’s Odes' - that sounds pretty cool. So it looks like that will be my Fall Term course for 06.
Borgia Books - Some of the books I had ordered finally arrived - notably, a compilation of Crezia’s love letters (which is an absolutely beautiful book), Prince of Foxes (which appears to be a quite tedious read) and Cantarella Volume II (Chez + Manga = *swoon*) Two more are still to follow - Robert Graves’ King Jesus and the novel I lovingly keep referring to as ‘Borgia-porn’, The House of the Borgias. Figures, that one is taking the longest to ship.
Lick’s - I must mention that on Monday night I had to stop off at Eglinton and Yonge on the way home. This stopover allowed me the pleasure of picking up dinner from Lick’s. It’s a good thing I don’t live too close to one of those places - I’d be there ever day. I am not a big hamburger fan but their Homeburgers put every other fast-food place to shame. On that note, I have pretty much been eating a lot healthier lately and am quite proud of that fact. I can’t really notice any physical changes but I guess the well being in knowing that I am eating well is satisfaction enough.
Amazing Race - for the first time ever the participants are all actually, dare I say this, ...nice. They get along and even help each other as necessary. It is a refreshing change from past editions. Wonder if that was a request of the producers - to focus on the good rather than the bad? *hmmm* Well Bravo to them - it is so much more entertaining and satisfying than seeing a bunch of bickering idiots go at it week after week. That being said - BJ and Tyler MUST win.
American Idol - little Kevin is gone. I’ll miss him. Good job by Barry Manilow. He came across as very knowledgeable about creating and adapting songs to suit the performers and seemed genuinely concerned with each of the competitors’ best interests - more so than any of the previous “celebrity” guests on Idol who appeared more so to promote themselves rather than offer any legitimate guidance to the contestants. So how many more weeks until Chris wins???
Lost - oh, you mean it actually WASN'T a repeat episode. Wow...didn't think that was possible.
Hmmm, now what to do tonight?? A free night - this is something I hadn’t anticipated. *looks around*
