A summary can make or break your fic...
Summarizing ones´ fics is probably one of the most difficult things a writer faces. I well remember that agony from my fic-writing days.
Also, that means that if you are not really good at it, your very well written fic might not get many readers - unless some bored and desperate soul tries it, understands what kind of gem it has found and makes a rec of it (preferably on
bestthingever or
fancake).
BTW,
fancake (a thematic fanfic recc comm) is doing fix-it´s right now! I´ve managed to almost forget my stomach-flu miseries because of it.
