This is a somewhat controversial episode as some people are disappointed a proper Beast/Prince Adam has slim to nil chances of showing up on this show. You'll see why, later. (But again, I think Leezar and Rapunzel make a better couple, so whatever.)
However, Robert Carlyle deserves a fuckin' Emmy for this.
0:15-Apparently, that Ogre War from Ep. 8 has still been going on. In this world, Maurice gets an upgrade from 'crazy old Maurice' to 'Sir Maurice'. And he and Belle happen to be Australian. (As you do.)
0:22-As someone who writes an OUAT/YH fanfic, I could not be more pleased to hear that.
0:25-Also the fact they had been waiting for help...even though maybe they shouldn't have asked...HIM.
1:05-As they open the door, they see no one there, but...
1:09-...they hear a voice that belongs to someone who is ALWAYS in everyone's business in Fairytale Land.
1:25-Anyone else remember that made for TV "Babes in Toyland" movie from the '80s? This reminds me of Barnaby's outfit, but Robert pulls the unwashed J-Rocker look off WAY better.
1:37-As usual, Rumpel will only help for a price. And that has to be Belle.
1:58-In this universe, she's engaged to Gaston, and he won't have it, but Rumpel doesn't want to fall in love with her, he wants a maid for his mansion.
2:27-And despite Maurice and Gaston's protests, Belle wants to do this.
2:41-EVIL LAUGH
3:04-Anyone else wonder what his NORMAL laugh sounds like?!
3:13-Yeah, REAL subtle, Maurice...
3:46-"Game of Thorns"...what else would you call your flower shop? And getting back to my fanfic, I'm hoping it's not the only florist in town...my Rapunzel and Belladonna characters, Rachel and Donna, have a florist called "White and Red". Not as punny, but it's because of the "Snow White and Rose Red" story.
3:50-In the real world, Maurice is named Moe French (Yeah, real subtle) and his business is in trouble as Mr. Gold's taken his truck due to the fact he was unable to pay his loan. Worse yet, it's almost Valentine's Day and he still has to make deliveries. :(
4:25-Moe is REALLY mad...I wonder if he's going to do anything rash...
4:33-And Regina had seen the whole thing. This can't be good.
4:50-Especially since she's been wanting to talk to him about something...he wants to get out of it, but she's persistent. Of course, there's the 'please' clause from when the curse was enacted...
5:19-At Granny's Diner, we see Mary Margaret and David...not together, but he's reading "Anna Karenina". Sorry David, but I don't think that book turns out well.
5:25-And Ruby's like, "I can push the tables together if you want", but of course, they don't want anyone to know. (Yeah, good idea... -rolls eyes-)
5:33-Emma comes by, and is VERY eager to ask Mary Margaret how Henry's doing. (You know, since Regina got pretty upset with her in the last episode and forbade her from seeing him.)
5:52-Mary Margaret tells Emma, "When people who are meant to be together are separated, they find a way." -looks at David.-
6:09-Ashley comes in with Alexandria, she's been incredibly busy taking care of the baby, but Sean's overnight job at the cannery doesn't leave them much time to see each other. And he hasn't proposed to her yet. :(
6:42-And since he's unable to get Valentine's Day off, Ruby suggests they have a girls' night out instead. Emma passes on it, and Mary Margaret is less than pleased about this.
6:56-Emma gets a buzz from work and is on her way to investigate.
7:21-Mr. Gold arrives home, and notices someone's broken in...so he grabs his gun and finds Emma there, pointing hers back at him. She was called to investigate the break-in.
7:54-This-

deviantART 8:16-In Fairytale Land, to the surprise of no one, Rumpel puts Belle in the dungeon. Or 'her room', because it sounds a lot nicer than 'dungeon'.
8:25-More evil laughter.
8:36-He has those creepy marionettes that used to be Gepetto's parents on display...-shudder-
8:54-"Oh, and you will skin the children I hunt for their pelts." Uh...
8:59-"That one was a quip." Oh.
9:16-And the teacup she dropped after hearing that skinning children quip now has a chip in it. Nice one, Disney.
9:32-In the real world, Mr. Gold knows exactly who must've broken into his house. But Emma's quite suspicious that he's still going to try something on Mr. French.
10:36-We're back in Fairytale Land, where Belle is watching Rumpel at the spinning wheel while she's tending to the curtains.
Belle: Why do you spin so much? -Rumpel looks at her- Sorry, it's just that you've spun more straw into gold than you could ever spend.
Rumpel: I like to watch the wheel. It helps me forget.
Belle: Forget what?
Rumpel: I guess it worked. -Evil laugh-
10:59-She finds that laugh infectious, I guess. And is that the Golden Fleece on display?
11:09-She's on that ladder trying to open the curtains, but someone's nailed them to the wall.
11:17-Yeah, he's that crazy to nail curtains to the wall.
11:22-She tugs at them, but falls off the ladder, where he catches her.
11:32-Neither of them expected that to be romantic, but there you are.
12:03-In the real world, Emma's recovered the stolen objects but hasn't caught Moe, although Mr. Gold seems to know one's missing. (Is that Aladdin's carpet?)
12:28-Something tells me there's a lot of bad stuff about to go down...
12:53-In Fairytale Land, Belle's curious of why he wanted her here. He still insists he needed a maid, but she thinks he was lonely. And she asks about the child's clothing she found in one of the rooms. He mentions his lost family, but that's a story for another time.
14:15-Rumpel trying to be scary... :)
14:25-"You think you're uglier than you are, that's why you cover all the mirrors up, isn't it?" You have no idea...
14:35-A knock at the door, and it's Gaston, who's come to claim Belle, but Rumpel doesn't want to be bothered and turns him into a rose. Anyone else think of Narcissus?
14:47-Belle: Who was that?
Rumpel: Just an old woman selling flowers...
14:52-GUH.
15:16-Belle explains to him she wanted to be the hero and save her village. Everyone expected her to marry Gaston, but she didn't want to be with a superficial jerk.
15:51-I'm afraid to know what part of Gaston was snipped off...
16:54-He's so moved, he sends her out to town for straw and promises to tell her his entire story, but gives her the choice of leaving him or coming back.
17:22-In the real world...SHOTS.
18:06-David, meanwhile, is at the corner store with two Valentine cards. A fairy tale one for Mary Margaret and a sappy must've been sold at Party City one with a cartoony dog for Kathryn. Mr. Gold, who has been buying duct tape and rope (-sing-song- Suspicious...) and takes notice. Looks like he's missing someone dearly...
18:53-...although the fact he's had Moe bound and gagged in the back of the truck is making us think not...
19:09-Especially since he's taken the poor guy to that isolated cabin for BTAK. Bound, torture, almost kill.
19:39-In Fairytale Land, Belle is merrily skipping in the forest to town when Regina comes by. This is going to get bad. Fast.
20:26-She suspects this girl has Stockholm Syndrome, and tells her that the kiss of true love could break this guy's curse...of course, what kind of woman would she be to send THAT kind of message?
21:38-Of course, I think Regina must know what's going on to convince Belle to give this guy a kiss to turn him into an ordinary man...
21:55-And Rumpel has kind of been expecting Belle would come back, watching for her from the window and running down the stairs, pretending to be all nonchalant when she comes in...
22:57-And it's clear she's come back for him...
23:25-For that kiss, which almost seems to be working, until...
23:45-She tells him that his curse could be broken, but he DOESN'T want to lose his powers! (You know, I bet "Eragon" would've been a lot different if Arya did this to Durza...)
23:53-And especially when he figures it was Regina who did this, he uncovers that mirror, as he didn't want her to spy on him! And thinking her feelings for him weren't real, he goes ballistic and locks her in the dungeon again.
24:52-In the real world, Gold is still torturing Maurice. And Robert proves he can still give a performance that will make us hide under the bed.
25:59-And especially strange, he keeps yelling at Moe about shutting 'her' out...what is going on?!
26:21-This is juxtaposed with Rumpel destroying the cabinets in his hall.
26:37-Fortunately for Moe, Emma's come to stop this. (How she gets this info, we'll have to wait for the deleted scenes on the DVD to find that out.)
26:40-There is one think Rumpel can't bring himself to break, and that's the teacup.
27:06-Ashley is still not having fun on the GNO, and her concerns about Sean spark Mary Margaret's concerns about David. Ashley's about to leave, until Sean comes in. He found time on his break to come and propose to her. :) Looks like this had a happy ending. :)
28:48-"Your carriage awaits." :)
29:08-This gives Mary Margaret some hope about her relationship with David, but after he gives her the wrong Valentine card by mistake, harsh reality comes crashing down that this won't work. But I figure the next episode may offer a solution. Also, there was ANOTHER scene that was left on the cutting room floor where he's having a conversation with Archie about this. I've seen photos and Raphael Sbarge is credited with being in this episode, but he doesn't show up...again, wait for the DVD.
30:44-Moe is taken to the hospital, and when Emma questions Gold about who he was yelling about, he refuses to answer. So she arrests him.
31:29-Yeah, subtle Disney.
31:37-It looks like Rumpel's changed his mind and decided to let her go. But she's upset that he didn't give into his real feelings. :( Cue the sad music-

33:44-With Mr. Gold behind bars at the sheriff's office, Emma tries to lure him to talk with pastrami. Not really working, as she also brings up that favor.
34:09-While he's being all shadowy and imposing, Regina comes to give Emma some time with Henry, but there's an ulterior motive to this.
34:42-And now something a lot of us have suspected since Ep. 2...he KNOWS who he is. (Even though Robert had admitted at last year's SDCC Gold didn't know, but I think he was throwing us off the track.) And it was Regina who convinced Moe to break in and take that one item he was missing.
36:38-The teacup.
37:09-And boy, is he mad.
37:48-Of course, this also happened in Fairytale Land. Regina comes by with news of a mermaid wanting to strike a deal (Ariel?!), but he's too upset about what happened with Belle.
39:00-And now she's told him a story about how she was shunned from her village and later committed suicide. But considering this is Regina, I highly doubt this is true.
40:40-He goes to his cabinets and replaces the grail he had on display with the teacup. So yeah, one moment he can make you hide under the bed, the next, you want to give him a hug.
41:13-Apparently there's another secret Regina's been hiding in town. In a sequence reminiscent of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", we find out an even bigger secret...
42:15-Regina has been keeping Storybrooke Belle in this secret asylum, which makes me wonder if she's done this to people who remember their pasts! I have no idea if Belle DOES remember, but we'll find out soon, and also the fact there's another person in town that tries to convince Emma the curse is real in an upcoming episode...I wonder if he's broken out...
ETA-It was noticed on a Disney Princess community that there is a shot of a candelabra and a clock. Again, very subtle, Disney.
