I didn't post earlier because I wasn't having a good day. And I'm not going into that, because I'm already trying to deal with all the depression that's been trying to overtake me.
So I did try my best to (I even found the film "Lizstomania", which is a very bizarre rock opera that's meant as a biopic though it is filled with many anachronisms like references to Universal Monsters, Thor, Nazi Germany and Charlie Chaplin...not to mention a LOT of naughty bits) and I am feeling better. SO let's get to it.
Yeah, nothing good can come of this...or can it?
1:07-We begin in Fairytale land, where young Jiminy is a pickpocket while his parents distract the marks with a marionette show. (Of course.)
1:55-Later, while counting the money they stole, Jiminy is admiring a cricket. (Of course.) His parents don't understand, but Jiminy just wants to be free like them. He's not happy his parents have made him a thief, but they keep insisting that's what the lad is.
2:38-"You weren't always a cricket."-Henry to Archie. (See? Smart kid.)
3:04-Henry's also noticed that there aren't any crickets chirping, either. Hmm...
3:45-Meanwhile, Emma's not thrilled about being a uniformed deputy and convinces Sheriff Graham to change his mind. (Hey, HE wears a leather jacket, too...)
4:08-As soon as she puts her badge on, an earthquake happens...coincidence?!
4:20-Now they've gotten a call to investigate a sinkhole near the old mine. And the rest of the town's come to look.
4:29-Regina's come to keep everything under control and investigate, while Marco and Ruby are trying to figure out what happened.
4:40-She is NOT pleased to see Emma there, but now the Sheriff (Who she's been getting frisky with on the weekends) informs her Emma's the new deputy. This doesn't make her any more pleased.
5:05-But she tries to tell the townspeople there's nothing to be alarmed about, and she is going to see if she can renovate the area and pave it.
5:25-This doesn't sit well with Henry, who thinks something must want to get out. And she's not pleased about this, telling him to step back while she handles it.
5:40-But now she's found a strange, but somewhat familiar chunk of glass...
5:46-Henry's suspicious, but she orders him to go back to the car for his safety.
6:05-But in a matter of moments, he sneaks out to get Emma and Archie to talk to them about another step in Operation Cobra.
6:24-"I didn't realize I was IN Operation Cobra!"-Archie.
6:30-Henry is convinced there must be something down there. Emma doesn't think so as it's an old mine, but Henry thinks it must have something to do with her arrival.
6:52-Regina catches Henry out of the car and tells him to go back. And as usual, is nasty to Emma.
7:00-But poor Archie is getting the most of her wrath. She orders him to come down hard on Henry and get rid of those delusions or else get fired.
8:30-Back in Fairytale Land, Jiminy is now a grown man, still with his parents. They've been running an "Elf Tonic" scam, but he tries to tell them he doesn't want to do this anymore, and they lay a HUGE guilt trip on him.
9:16-While setting up for a marionette show in the rain, a little boy comes by, exclaiming that Jiminy must have a great job. Jiminy's not fond of it, sadly claiming "It's just who I am". The little boy came to listen to the crickets, something Jiminy remembers fondly. The little boy is also kind, giving Jiminy his umbrella. It's not a big deal, as he lives close by. He's moved by the boy's kindness. :)
10:28-Back in the real world, Archie is wrestling with his own conscience as his friend Marco (Who, of course, is Geopetto) stops by as they're going to have lunch. Unfortunately, Archie has to take care of a client.
10:49-Of course, it's Henry, and he definitely figures out that Marco is Geopetto, as Archie is Jiminy Cricket, and the two are of course good friends.
11:00-What comes next, however, is worse, as Henry wants to explore the sinkhole. And Archie has to come down on him.
11:42-And of course, Henry just storms out of Archie's office...where he is just beside himself. :(
11:58-Meanwhile, Mary Margaret is visiting David, playing Hangman to help jog his memory. He wouldn't let her stick figure hang, he would've added toes, a hat, maybe a horse. :)
12:30-Even though he'll be out of the hospital soon, he has his doubts about everything surrounding him.
12:44-Kathryn's shown up with some photos to help David jog his memory...but he's a little too focused on Mary Margaret.
13:08-And it really makes Mary Margaret feel bad, being attracted to someone she can't have. :(
13:13-At her loft, she tells Emma about this situation and is feeling very bad about it. Especially since Kathryn is so nice. (Which, considering how she was a little too unbearable in her other life, is an improvement.) Emma tells he she really shouldn't try to get so hung up on this.
13:44-Henry shows up, and is REALLY upset over what happened with Archie, so Emma goes by to talk to the doctor.
13:57-She's quite upset about it, but he is very upset with himself. She knows Regina must've been behind this. And she receives a call from Regina, but she's asking about Henry! He never came to her office after the appointment, and Archie knows exactly where Henry's run off.
14:45-This is not going to be easy...
15:00-Speaking of things that aren't easy but seem like it at the time...
15:05-FINALLY he's spinning straw into gold like in the story, but this just happens to be an alchemy workshop. (Of course.)
15:21-And now Jiminy's come for a favor. Oh, this is not going to bode well...
16:00-He wants to get rid of his parents, and Rumpel has just the thing. Even though we all know this is going to end in disaster...
16:30-"Put it in their curds and whey!" Hee, just had to giggle at that...
16:47-And it seems he's going to collect whatever's left of them after the potion's been used...hmm...
17:17-Back in the real world, Emma and Archie have gone looking for Henry, who's already gone in. Pongo's sniffed out a candy bar wrapper, which happens to be a "Lost" reference.
18:10-Henry's gone deeper into the cave and found a piece of glass that looks just like the one Regina found...but there's another tremor. Archie goes in, but is trapped.
19:10-He's found Henry, but the boy's run deeper into the cave, trying to prove to him there's something in there...but doesn't realize how much trouble he's gotten into.
19:42-Back in Fairytale Land, Jiminy tries to convince his parents not to pull a scam on unsuspecting people, but of course, they won't listen.
20:07-"Do you have a place at your heath for an honest man and his...elderly parents?"
20:15-The couple invites them in to share their dinner, but Jiminy is feeling worse and worse the nicer they are to them.
20:31-And now his parents have started to pull the "Elf Tonic" scam, telling the couple they've escaped the plague due to it. They tell them they'll pay anything and the cons rob them blind.
21:49-As they're about to leave, Jiminy reprimands his parents for scamming those innocent people. Their rotten attitude leaves him no choice but to use the potion...
22:10-...except it doesn't work because they've switched the bottles on him, figuring he was going to do something horrible to them! Unfortunately, that nice couple got the potion and...
22:59-...GAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!
23:17-What's even worse is that those poor people were the parents of that nice little boy. :(
23:50-Back in the real world, Archie tries to get Henry out of the cave, even though the kid's not listening to reason at this point.
24:25-Above ground, Marco is confident Archie is doing his best to keep Henry safe...but another tremor shakes them.
24:39-And now's the time when Regina and Emma butt heads over the kid.
24:55-Archie and Henry hear Pongo's barking from above ground, and know they might be close to the exit.
25:03-Emma suggests that she and Regina need to have a truce as Henry's life is in danger.
25:22-Fortunately, Archie and Henry find an old mine elevator...
25:32-...but Marco suggests blowing a hole in the ground.
25:44-So now the two are using the mine elevator to try to get above ground...
25:53-...and the hole is now rigged with explosives.
26:19-Yeah, nothing good is going to happen.
26:44-Told ya.
27:00-Now things are getting a little awkward for Mary Margaret. David wants her to walk with him outside.
27:39-And he tells her he doesn't think this place is familiar at all. Not even having a dog named 'Ajax' feels right to him.
28:26-Of course, he tells her that she's the only thing that feels real to him. But we all know that this isn't going to happen anytime soon. Especially since Kathryn comes by with muffins.
29:17-But he REALLY likes her...
29:30-Back at the old mine, Regina is furious because the blast could've hurt Henry. Marco suggests they should drill a hole instead, and Emma decides to use Pongo to find an opening.
30:07-They find an air shaft, so fortunately all is not lost.
30:21-And now it's time for a heart to heart with Henry and Archie. He apologizes for running away, and Archie apologizes about the fight they had. This makes Archie realize that he's not the person he's wanted to be.
31:55-Above ground, they may have gotten the grate open, but someone's going to have to be lowered down.
32:06-Henry's still convinced Archie is Jiminy Cricket, but Archie doesn't think he has much of a conscience. But Henry points out it took Jiminy a while to listen to that conscience to be the person he wanted.
33:08-Emma insists she should be lowered down as she's more used to being physical on the job. At least Regina doesn't snap at her about this, she wants Henry safe as well.
33:46-Archie's glad Henry's helped him realize who he wanted to be, and at that moment, Emma comes down to rescue them.
35:10-It takes a turn for the worse as the elevator is about to drop with Archie in it...
35:23-...but his ever-present umbrella is hooked onto her belt clip! :)
35:57-They're all out safely, but the truce is over as Regina starts acting horrible to Emma again.
36:26-And now Archie is standing up to Regina. He's not going to follow her orders anymore, especially since he could prove useful in a custody battle.
37:44-In Fairytale Land, Jiminy still feels horrible about what happened to the boy's parents and wishes upon a star to help them.
38:22-The Blue Fairy comes to help, but there is sadly nothing to help them. He still wants to help that little boy, and she suggests that she'll turn him into the one thing that will grant him his freedom-a cricket.
40:09-And now it all makes sense...that boy is Geopetto! Although you'd THINK he'd want to avoid marionettes after that trauma...
40:24-Back in the real world, Emma is wondering if Marco is Archie's father. Uh, didn't he say to her in the first episode he always wanted children, but he and his wife never had any?
40:45-And at that moment, Henry notices the crickets chirping.
41:14-And if you didn't watch the last episode, I figured that those two marionettes that they panned over in Gold's shop were definitely related to this episode...
41:27-And trying to avoid heartbreak, Mary Margaret sends a letter of resignation as a volunteer to the hospital. :(
41:50-While everyone celebrates the rescue effort, they have no idea that there's something important under the mine...
42:30-...and it's perhaps the reason why none of the fairy tale characters can leave town...
There might've been another part cut out of the episode, as I remember they had a teenage version of Jiminy and the behind the scenes photos suggested there was an attraction to a girl he couldn't have, but I think we'll wait until the first season arrives on DVD to see that...
