New York.

So I got back from the NY trip early Sunday morning, and I haven't been able to write about it until now. The parts that weren't the competition or the award part of the award ceremony were awesome! I also turned 16 on April 8th! (The day of the competition.) It was really fun!

[ ]We got there at around 7 on Thursday night, we all got in our bathing suits and had a pool/pizza party. It was nice to go swimming again. I LOVE swimming. I can't wait til I can go swimming every day. (& do some crazy tricks!) Then we had to get right to bed because we had an early wake up call the next day.

[ ]Friday, the day of the competition, (and my birthday) we all woke up and got in our concert dresses. Then we went downstairs to eat breakfast where a select few sang happy birthday to me. I love them the most. :D Then we went in the other room and warmed up for a while. The warm up was SO good. Which makes me even more upset about the outcome of the thing. =\ Then we all got on the bus and headed to the college where the competition was. We watched a really bad group, then the chamber choir went, then we watched a really good group (so much better than we were), and then we all went to Burger King for lunch. We ate and then hurried back for the concert choir performance. That had to have been the WORST place for a chorus to sing and get JUDGED. They put us on STRAIGHT steps so we couldn't hear eachother at all, and Mrs. McAdam was below us so we had to look down at her. It was CRAP. To top that off one of the judges was from Peramus High School, which was the school that NS totally OWNED in Virginia. Well, she got her pay back. We looked at the score sheets and hers was 20 points lower than the other two judges. That's a lot of points. What a -itch.

After the performances, we left for New York City. (Our hotel and the comp was in New Jersey.) First we went to the ESPN Zone to eat lunch and play games. After everyone had used up their little cards, we went shopping in Times Square and on 5th Avenue. I only bought an I <3 NY t-shirt, for like $2. Then at 7 we all met up at Richard's thearter to see the Broadway show Movin' Out. I liked it, but I was expecting it to be better. None of the people sang. It was a band, and the people just acted it out and danced the whole time. I was hoping to go to like an ALL OUT Broadway show. Oh well. I think Mrs. McAdam regrets going to it too. There was a very, ermmm... sexy scene in it. I saw a bum or two. lol. After that we went back to the hotel and went to bed.

[ ]On Saturday we got to wake up late. The people in my room (me, Ashley Morrissey, Katie LeClerc, & Danielle Dube) were the last ones to wake up and get ready. We were supposed to be packed up for the bus at 12. We had to do some speed packing!! LOL. Kelsey Pep also came in and gave me presents. She's so cute and sweet! :D So, after everyone was ready to leave, we checked out of the hotel and headed back to the city. We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was cool, but kind of booooring. So Lindsey, Brittney, Ashley and I went outside and sat on the edge of a fountain. We were allowed to go outside and get something to eat.. so soon a lot of people from our school were out there. Then Brit, Linds, Ash and I decided to be rebels. We walked down the street and looked at the vendor's art. lol I liked one sooo much that I bought it. It's like a cartoon of Times Square. It's pretty sweet. After that we got on the busses yet again and headed to Medieval Times for the awards ceremony. Which mostly everyone knows about now. Chamber got third out of four and concert choir got second out of two. The school that did win was really good. After they gave out the trophies we got to watch the weird medieval show and eat with our hands. They gave everyone a huge leg of chicken, soup, and a potato. (Yes, a full potato. Not in any form of fries or tots.) In the middle of the show there were a lot of announcements. Among them was an announcement of my birthday! The guy said in his all Medieval voice, "And a Happy Sweet Sixteen to Jessica!" and people from our school clapped and cheered loudly.. I felt loved =]. Anyway, in the end of the show our knight ended up winning. He was the best. Then we left for the looong trip home. We got home at 3 in the morning. I slept the whole way home. lol.

This week is going to go by SO SLOW. Ugh. Hopefully there will be many good times over vaca. I'm starting to be super happy again like I was at this time last year. & I feel way less stressed. Whew. (However, that doesn't mean that ALL of my stress has been relieved.) Well since I don't really want to get into the d'TAILS of my day, (because it was pretty much normal..) I guess I shall go now.

Oh here's another picture. LOL, only because I LOVE IT. ;D<3333
Ciao<333!
