This Blog prompt says: Tell your blogreaders about a time when you suddenly had more confidence than you expected - maybe in replying 'yes' or 'no'.
The day the girl I had been working with for three weeks put on the uniform of shop floor supervisor and also pulled on the jack boots and became Himmler. She homed in on me and whenever I headed for the warehouse she would be there to ask where I was going and why. When she had prevented me going for a break twice AND told me off in front of the customers both times I had suddenly had enough, I walked straight past her and went to the staff room. She came after me and because there were other people in there she asked if she could speak to me privately. Usually I would agree because I really hate confrontation but this time I suddenly had the confidence and the words. I told her that as she had bawled me out in front of the customers I didn't see any reason why she should not feel free to do the same thing in front of other staff members, unless the close proximity of the store manager was holding her back. As she opened her mouth to say something I continued "As soon as I have found a sheet of paper I will be writing my notice and handing it to the manager. I will be telling him that you are the reason for my departure. I will not be treated like a three year old, by someone who is acting like a four year old." (that last phrase I got from PAx_Draconis and I had waited years to use it)
I then grabbed a piece of paper wrote my name and address and the words I quit on it and took it straight to the manager and left.
They did try to change my mind, they made excuses about her but I had the strength to stay away. I told them to say it was because pf personality differences - I have one - they were very apologetic.
I shook for hours afterwards because I just so hate that sort of thing.
