More WoW from last night.

In WoW last night again (Been playing a lot haven’t I?) I decided to take a little break from farming with Thrise and moved over to Anaxi. I noticed that the Frostwolf emissaries were in town when I logged in! Wooo! Double honor for AV time. I immediately signed up for a match and as usual didn’t have to wait very long to be whisked away. Time to find fortune and glory in the snow!

The first thing I noticed when I logged in was that we weren’t losing, that’s always a good thing. The second was that I was using the desktop computer so I’d actually be more affective without all the lagging, time to get to killing! After picking up a raid invite I made my way to the Stone Heart bunker to help capture it. We were doing well and I flattened a mage and hunter before a warrior took me out of it for 28 seconds. Rezzing and returning to Stone Hearth I help mop up and someone takes the flag, for the horde! The raid leader sends my group to recapture Ice Blood tower and it’s there that I met my destiny, and thy name….is Paladin.

I got to IB tower and jumped right into the middle of it cheap shotting then chain eviscerating a wounded hunter to bloody bits (/spit) and then sprinting after another mage who was trying to retreat. I fall back to the tower entrance and follow a group up, man I hate horde towers since I almost always fall off the damn things. We fought to the flag but were repelled by a priest, druid, paladin and warrior. Making my way back I knew, just knew I had to crack open that paladin. Anaxi hates paladins. As I arrive the paladin and warrior are outside the tower, perfect. I stealth and watch as the warrior charges someone off to my right leaving the paladin alone guarding the entrance. It takes some time to sneak over there as he’s running around but I finally land a cheap shot. From there, the battle would swing back and forth.

The initial cheap shot and following sinister strikes left me with 4 combo points on him. He immediately started doing their paladin thing (looks like righteous farting to me but it’s whatever skill it is to pop their seal for AOE damage.) I start circling him landing strikes when I’m in range and I finally get that 5th combo point! I square up, charge at him and pop him right in the kidneys. Mr. Paladin is going to take a nap now. A quick circle behind and I start bashing away at his head, by the time he comes to I’ve got him less than 30% so again he does the Paladin thing, shield then heal. I keep pounding away at his shield but I never can break through in time before that heal goes off. The beautiful thing about that though, he’s out of mana! The harsh thing is, he’s got me by a ton of HP as I’m a little less than 50% at the moment. He charges at me swinging away and the only thing I can do of course is gouge him..I mean why not? So he wakes up from that and seemingly pissed as hell. We trade blows and I’m slowly working my way to the elusive fifth combo point when my slice and dice wears off. Noooooo! So I’ve got a choice to either kick slice and dice in or try to get two more points. It’s a gamble but I go for the two points.

He’s really mashing me into the snow and I’m thinking about just bailing on the fight. It looks like he’s going to beat me. This is when I remember being a rogue isn’t all about smashing things, I blind him hit my bandage and as he comes out of his stupor I vanish and quickly back away. He starts the rightous farting again trying to draw me out but I take me time and sneak in closer. WHAM! Stupid mages and their blizzard! I’m knocked out of stealth and he charges me so the only thing I can do..gouge him. I quickly hit slice and dice, then pop adrenaline rush, activate my troll berserking and go all John Henry on him. He falls to the ground, I imagine the sound of snow compacting under the weight of his armor and lifeless corpse. It’s a joyous victory march for me and a somber funeral dirge for him.

It’s at this time I take notice of my surroundings, we took IB tower back but the alliance is forming up and getting ready for a big push. I spot the mage I think was responsible for the blizzard (well he’s going to be held accountable since he’s the only mage I saw right after) and see that he’s badly wounded and running for cover. So, what else could I do..I hit sprint and run after him. He notices me and blinks, damn! Not sure I’m going to catch him I decided to leave him with a parting gift, an arrow right in the ass. Take aim. Breath in. Hold it. Loose! The arrow flies through the cold valley straight at its fleeing target. Thunk! *insert the sound of a gnome mage falling dead here* I was very pleased with myself after that, a nice arrow crit always puts a smile on my face.

Shortly after I was cut down by a warrior holding what looked like an arcanite reaper. I really wish I could use one of those!*smile* BUT, I’ll hopefully be getting my Persuader soon. Then Paladin bitches, it’s go time. And yes Vae, I plan to smash as many mages as I can*smile*

The rest of the game went on without incident. I was hoping to find that Paladin again but he seemed to have moved on. I ended up getting really tore up by warriors this game, kinda ticked me off. I don’t know who won, although we were doing pretty good, because I accidentally put my foot down on the power strip knocking me out of the game. By the time I got everything back up and running I had been kicked from AV, gah! Stupid 15min deserter waits.

Next time, next time.

EDIT: Does anyone know someone who can put together a Hide of the Wild?
