1.) Name: Ash.
2.) Age: I'll be seventeen this month.
3.) Location: Tennessee, United States. I live in a small town.
4.) Describe yourself in five words: crafty, bookworm, musiclover, quiet, prankster.
5.) What is your favorite color and why? I like white. I think it's a pretty color, and I also like the way I look in it. It also has a calm, soothing feel about it, and it looks beautiful in old photographs. It can be a very stunning color when done right. And it's the color of the clouds and ocean spray.
6.) Are you fluent in any other languages? I speak an intermediate level of Spanish, and I intend on earning a college degree in Japanese. I also have some (very scanty) knowledge of Latin from choral music.
7.) Tell us a little about your heritage: My father's side of the family is Irish, while my mother's family is Cherokee Indian.
8.) Favorite book(s)? Anything written by Pearl S. Buck, J.K. Rowling, a few of Stephen King's works, Memoirs Of A Geisha, books about languages/cultures/religions. Historical romances.
9.) Favorite movie(s)? The Princess Bride, Castle In The Sky, Anne Of The Thousand Days, The X Files movies, Gone With The Wind.
10.) Favorite quote? "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." tied with "You cannot hate God and yet say you do not believe in Him."
11.) Who is your favorite historical figure, and why? Henry VIII. He took the tiny dynasty given him by his father and practically spun hay into gold. He was always enchanting to me: six wives, his quest for a son, the legacy he passed on, all of his (legit) children were monarchs, the scandal and intrigue, the Church, the fashion!
12.) Do you have any special talents? I can read extremely fast and I have a knack for languages.
13.) What is your religious persuasion, if any? I don't really have a defined, concrete religion at the moment, but I am interested in the Catholic Church.
14.) When you imagine yourself ten or fifteen years down the road, do you see yourself being married? With kids? Dating around? Single? I see myself teaching English in Japan, though I would like to have several children, and a dashing husband! I will not let my two best friends leave my life (that would be unacceptable) and I hope I'm at least fully bilingual!
15.) Which is more important to you? Love, god, or freedom? Freedom. The first two are nothing without the third. Without freedom, love is mechanical and God is a forced choice. I would have taken the apple and reconciled with God.
16.) Do you have a flair for fashion? I'm very self-conscious about my appearance, but I don't really follow a certain style. The only fashions I LOVE are the Tudor and Sweetlolita (Japanese street fashion).
17.) Is there anything else we should know about you? You can't really sum up a person in one LJ post, can you?
18.) Please post at least one clear picture of yourself: I have no scanner and therefore no pictures of myself, but I can describe. I'm short (5'3") with longish straight red hair, green-blue eyes, freckles that I despise, and pale skin when it isn't covered in dots! I weigh 115 and I do have bangs that just about cover my eyes.
