Thank you for inspiring me to stand up for my rights.

Thank you for bringing my community closer together.

Thank you for shaking me out of my complacency.

Thank you for trying to make me feel like a second class citizen, it only makes me stronger.

Thank you for thinking that you could love me and yet vote to take away my rights, it only exposed your own hypocrisy.

So thank you, really and truly. You’ve lit the fires beneath us and it only gave us better lighting in which to demonstrate, protest, and defend ourselves against people like you.

Which reminds me:

Thank you for showing me that the wolf in sheep’s clothing could be one of your own close friends. I won’t let it happen again.
