Okay. If you are going to vote yes on 8, than you should know the truth about it. It will not affect what your church can and cannot do. It will not affect what your kids are learning in school. It will not force churches to marry gays. It will not make it wrong for you to think that gays are sinners and terrible people. Go on ahead and believe that, it's your right. The ONLY thing it will do is deny gays the rights to marry and deny them all the rights that everyone else gets.
To quote my amazing friend Scott: "I think it's important to be clear, that voting NO will simply CONTINUE what has already been legal since the spring. Voting NO will change NOTHING! This prop is all about REMOVING rights that are already legally in-place.
All these things people are worried about happening of Prop 8 does not pass are ridiculous, they would have already happened. A NO on prop 8 allows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING NEW!"

So, it boils down to this. If you feel that it's right to deny people basic rights, if you feel it's right to treat people as second class citizens, and if you think it's right to allow religion to force the government into a position of discrimination, than own up to that. Don't BS people and lie and use fear to get other people to vote it through.
Just be real about it okay. You think it's wrong to be gay and you have no qualms about denying gay people the right to marry. Because all the other fear mongering BS that is going around is outright false. This IS the truth about Prop 8. If you don't believe me than do the research.
