What I got Mike for Christmas: Led Zeppelin Classics - guitar tab/sheet music book, a Rage Against the Machine t-shirt, a picture frame I made with a picture of us in it, and ax. Mike gave me a beautiful ring. It's silver and in the middle it has a pink heart and it has little diamonds on the sides. It's gorgeous! :) I went over there Thursday and we exchanged presents cause we couldn't wait. Spent the night. Next day I gave the girls their presents (pretty pretty princess game and a barbie head whos hair they can do). We had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.. yum! Then we went to Mike's mom's house and babysat the girls. We baked sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. MMMmm! When his mom got home we went to my house for the night. Next day (today) he played his new guitar for my mom. It's nice. He left at 1ish today and I took a nap and started reading the 6th Harry Potter. I've also started talking to my dad about cars and he's going to help me pay for one and I'm soo exited. I've been sitting here for an hour singing along with Fiona Apple.
I'm really happy. Not just in this moment, but in general I've had a super good year. And I'm really thankful for everyone and everything in my life. :)
Have a very Merry Christmas!
All this about Happy Holidays vs. Merry Christmas is so dumb. Whoever looks in Land's End catalogs and gets offended because it says Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas, they're stupid. And whoever gets offended when people say Merry Christmas if that's not something they celebrate, they're stupid too. If some happy little woman at the mall wished me a Happy Hanukkah, I would be delighted and say thank you very much with a big old smile. It would make my day. Happy Holidays is something nice to say and so is Merry Christmas. The United States were founded on Christianity, people surely have a right, in my opinion, to say Merry Christmas and not feel like they have to say Happy Holidays. I would find it stupid if some Jewish person got offended by hearing that. Not that I don't think Happy Holidays is equally as nice to say this time of year, because I do. And I think it's also perfectly acceptable, and if people prefer to say Happy Holidays, that is great. And when people get offended because Happy Holidays is being said and not Merry Christmas, I think it's equally as ridiculous. Who honestly gives a hoot? Boycotting? What are people thinking? People on both sides of the argument are forgetting the point of the Holiday AND/OR Christmas spirit.
