Castle Mango chapter 7 summary

Ack! I'm... sorry? I really let this slide, even though I promised to get those summaries done ._. But life has been busy and I got distracted by other things.
I'll be posting the summary for chapter 7 first. Chapter 8 should follow within the next few days (seriously!) and I'll post them both together over at Ogura Muku comm then (and update this post as well). Chapter 9 is available already, so I'll refrain from doing that. Since these days I'm so busy that whenever I have free time I do nothing but laze around, ch8 summary won't be done anytime soon. Sorry. But having read the summary for chapter 9 one can pretty much guess what happened in chapter 8 anyway.

It's a bit shorter than last time, but still way too long >.>

Chapter 7 starts in the hospital. Shirosaki's uncle and aunt have arrived in the meantime and they tell his mother to rest and not worry about anything. She asks them to take good care of her children then. But afterwards we can see uncle and aunt talking in the waiting room of the hospital. Auntie is relieved that they don't have to take care of the love hotel… because that'd be such an embarrassing thing to do. Uncle is worried that Shirosaki might hear them, but Auntie says not to worry because Shirosaki would feel just the same (as he never mentions about love hotel in front of other people). Of course, Shirosaki did overhear their conversation and then insists that he could take care of everything by himself. What he thinks is: "I definitely won't let someone like take care of me."

Scene skips to Togame at the AV headquarters. He runs into some guy there (who's a director for gay porn). Togame and his chef then talk some and it ends up with chef saying that he has an acquaintance who's planning on making a movie (as in, not AV) sometime in future. He asks Togame whether he would be interested in helping out with that movie. Chef knows that Togame wants to switch to doing 'normal' movies and apparently that director still needs some help, so this would be a nice chance for Togame.

Out in the hallway there's the guy from earlier again-together with someone who looks very much like Shirosaki (at which Togame is pretty shocked). It's not Shirosaki, though (as we can see when he turns around) and Togame just thinks "There’s no way for him to be here…"

Then scene switches to Shirosaki who's at school, but leaves in a hurry right after class. He has to do the shopping, take care of the laundry, make dinner… basically, he needs to take care of everything. When he and Satoru are having their meal Satoru asks about their mother, but Shirosaki only says that her condition has stabilized. Satoru doesn't say anything at this, but you can see that he knows his brother just doesn't want to worry him.

Later we can see how Shirosaki is worrying over the money aspect. The hotel isn't open for business right now-and it's also not like they could go back to business as soon as their mother gets released from the hospital. He doesn't want to borrow any money from his uncle/aunt… so, should he try to find a job? But then he'd have to take care of their home AND work. There wouldn't be time left for him to study anymore… and if his grades were to drop he'd be suspended. While worrying about all that he remembers what Togame once told him… to rely adults when he can't handle something on his own. He's staring at Togame's phone number, thinking that you can't rely on someone when you don't know whether that person cares about you or not. He's about to cry at that thought but then tries to shake it off and wants to go out for a while to calm down.

On his way outside he meets an old couple… that is regular customers at their love hotel. They're incredibly sad to hear that the hotel was closed for the moment, then they whine around a bit and Shirosaki lets them in, in the end. And then he makes an incredibly stupid decision. That is, to keep the love hotel running… only for customers who have made an appointment beforehand and not at night, but still: to keep it running. Because like that they could at least earn a bit of money.

Back to Togame… who has spend his day in the amusement park together with Ninomiya, lol. They're in the car on their way back when Togame spots Satoru on the sidewalk. He hears then that their mother had to stay in the hospital at the moment and that Satoru was on his way there. Togame offers to take him to the hospital. In the car Satoru explains that their mother is going to have a surgery next month, but that he didn't know anything specific because no one would let him know. Both his mother and his brother seemingly don't want him to worry too much… and because Yorozu is trying so hard to manage everything he feels like he shouldn't ask too much. Togame then says that Satoru himself must be really worn out too… and Satoru starts crying. Eh? Yeah. I guess it's that until now he only felt like some burden on the people around him, so for someone to actually acknowledge that he himself must be in a lot of stress too is kind of the trigger.
Satoru got some doughnuts on the way to the hospital. After having said goodbye, Ninomiya says that Satoru seems to resemble Togame's little brother a bit…

Back at home Shirosaki notices the doughnuts and asks where Satoru got them from. Satoru is actually really bad at lying and lets it slip that they're from Togame. He met him on his way to the hospital and he bought them for him (as a get-well-gift for their mother). Apparently Togame told Satoru that his big brother hated him and thus Satoru shouldn't say that the doughnuts were bought by him >.>
Shirosaki then gets lost in thought once again: Why did they meet just like that? When Togame wouldn't even send him a message… but he'd buy doughnuts for Satoru? And that even though in the past he touched him like that…. and also kissed him. And still he likes Satoru more…? But then Shirosaki is surprised at his own thoughts (and at the fact that-once again-he was about to cry) and tries to convince himself that there's nothing between them and that it's not like he really liked that guy anyway. Yes, right. Your actions speak otherwise :p

He then hears that the old couple is leaving and heads out to see them off. At the same time other customers arrive, but Shirosaki tells them they were closing down for today. That guy doesn't want to hear that though, he complains how it's way too early for them to close business. He insists to get a room (and is really aggressive about it), so Shirosaki doesn't have a choice but to let him in (and gets all panicked when that guy just dumps his cigarette in the hallway). And sometime later… just as Shirosaki is thinking that today was really the worst, he hears the fire alarm. And where is the fire? Of course in the room with the wooden horse carousel… exactly the room that guy was in just before. Yeah,he really doesn't know how to discard his cigarettes >.> Anyway Shirosaki gets the fire extinguisher (and tells Satoru-who just came running-to get him all the other extinguishers as well) and gets started on putting out the blaze.
To be continued in chapter 8.
