That game had some shoddy officiating...the guys on SC seemed convinced that someone would be fired for showing bias to the home team. A guy I work with who officiates I-AA games said the guy would most likely not be allowed to call an SEC game again this year.
Mistakes were made and amplified because of when they were made.
You know, I'll take the W and gladly move on. I'm not going to sit here and say that UT deserved the win or tell you all the reasons why the call was OK (it wasn't). I don't think either team established any superiority over the other. I mean, honestly that game should've gone to overtime, with UT hitting the XP, then running out the clock after they got the punt. That would've been fitting. Regardless, I'm happy they are 2-0 and in the Top 10 now.
I'm not sure either one is a top 10 team...but it doesn't matter because being in the SEC and going .500 means you'll be ranked...GA sucks ass and they are 3.
UF and UT are not top 10 teams at all...neither could beat Oklahoma or USC...they aren't powerhouses...this is the same UT that got their asses stomped by lowly fucking Clemson less than a year ago.
So... am I to understand that if you can't beat the top two teams, you are not a top 10 team? It's too early in the season to say who can/can't beat who.
Are we talking about LAST YEAR? LAST YEAR?! I mean, c'mon... this is LAST YEAR. Are we really talking about LAST YEAR!?!
Your anti-SEC bias is really perplexing. What do you have against them? They show, year-in and year-out that they are a dominant conference. Yeah... they lose some games. Everyone does. The SEC is still king.
Big 12 is the best, if you had to pick one, but I don't think any one conference is dominant significantly...ACC historically has been penalized because there is more parity...aside from Duke, there is nobody that just gets walked over year after year after year...
Also, the SEC is far and away the most notorious for recruiting violations and using jets to fly in players and handing out grades...Bama, Auburn, GA, Tenn, and SC have all been under investigation within the past 5 years...like Heath was saying...if it came down to choosing between GT having a losing program vs. GT having a GA/UT/UF type program, I'd rather lose every year. As someone who likes to champion the college game over the pro game because of "the purity", that should make sense.
And unfortunately, Tech has now joined the ranks of GA/UT/UF. Did you not see the article about all the ineligible players who were played, despite not making grades (knowingly)?
Tech has an idiot for a coach who should be fired...should have been fired right after the Duke game last year...should have been fired the first year when he let Hollings and whoever else become ineligible.
Tech is building a reputation for being the biggest enigma-team in college football. Beat ranked opponents or play Top 10 teams to close games, then lose the next week to a team that had surrendered 80 points and 1,000 yards in its first two games. Awesome!
God, I hope our basketball team doesn't pull the same bullshit.

And you're delusional if you think UF and UT are not Top 10 teams. Lay off the yayo, man... I'm worried about you.

I'm not sure beating Clemson was a big deal...1, they kind of outplayed us...2, they haven't looked good all year against anyone.
