Everybody knows that there are better roads to drive on

Oh, gosh, what a day. I'm just all blaaaaaaah right now. Finals aren't especially draining or stressful or anything, I'm just emotionally worn out. There's really not much reason to be, except that WSC is at a tough part for me to deal with, and it takes a lot of energy to pretend I don't know that the plan (which had absolutely nothing to do with WSC in any way) was a failure. I suppose I'll get around to facing that someday, but after finals, definitely.

A friend of my best friend from high school who goes to law school at American called today, and I'm going to give her a ride home, so I won't be driving up to PA alone on Tuesday, which will be nice. I suppose I need to make a few mixes of "normal" music, though.

So, my intention was to get the Turning Point replay on Tuesday, after my final. I didn't. In fact, I never got. Damn, did I screw up, or what? GAH, it looks like it was so gooooood! I was wrong about the 4Live Kru plotline, too! It wasn't Kip who was the traitor, it was Konnan!!! And now . . . while I do like Ron Killings . . . OMG, NEW AGE OUTLAWS REUNION!! *swoon*

The problem with TNA's "Less talk, more action" angle is that with less talk, what talk (aka PLOT) there is needs to be tighter than it would be otherwise. TNA, you failed this week, big time. Shane Douglas (with whom I'm fascinated, since learning about his ECW history) was, in the storyline, following JJ around backstage. However, AT THE SAME TIME, he was doing interviews with various stars to advance plotlines. WTF?! Come on TNA, you can make your pre-taped scenes blend together better than that, can't you? I'm disappointed.

Also . . . while I'm actually a big fan of the "TNA management is screwing us over" gimmick for JJ, he has GOT to lose that belt! I'm sorry, but it's getting so that he's HHH all over again. That said, I think the Gail Kim interactions characterize him better than anything that's been done since he started losing his mind, and I LOVE the "war" idea! The heroes are vastly outnumbered, so I'm excited to see who comes in on their side! Sting, I'm guessing, but for gosh sakes, he won't change the tide. Will X-Division guys get involved??? I'd love to see them take the war to the X-Division too!

. . . I think they just convinced me to keep my HBO:

HBO, 'Six Feet' creator reunite for new series

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - HBO has dug up a new deal with "Six Feet Under" creator Alan Ball, but this time he's switching from the dead to the undead.

The first project covered under the two-year development deal Ball signed with the premium cable channel will be based on the "Southern Vampire" book series.

Written by Charlaine Harris, the series chronicles the intermingling world of humans and monsters in contemporary rural Louisiana, particularly vampires, thanks to a synthetic blood formula that allows them to roam far from their coffins.

"The books are funny, scary, sexy, romantic, bizarre and really fun," Ball said. "I couldn't put them down. I will try to remain as true to the spirit of her book as possible."

HBO has ordered an hour-long pilot to be written and directed by Ball. There is no set timetable for shooting the "Southern" pilot, but Ball believed it would happen sometime next year.

Ball, who also won an Oscar for writing "American Beauty," last created "Six Feet Under," which revolved around a family mortuary business. The Emmy-winning series ended in August.

"I was ready to do something a little lighter in tone than 'Six Feet,"' Ball said. "Five years of staring into the abyss was enough."

Bringing Ball back into the fold represents a coup for HBO, which has proved adept at getting the creators of its hit series to come back for another try; "Deadwood" executive producer David Milch recently signed a new deal, and "Sex and the City" executive producer Michael Patrick King already has completed a second series for HBO, "The Comeback."

"I had always assumed that Alan was done with TV," said Carolyn Strauss, HBO's president of entertainment. "I thought he was going to do movies, so we didn't even try. Then he read this book and said, 'I want to do this.' It was really a beautiful surprise."

Since burying "Six Feet Under," Ball has also written several screenplays on spec and developed a theatrical production in New York, "All That I Will Ever Be."

Today I walked to Whole Foods to get some crackers for my dad (long story), and then across the road to the Barnes and Noble to use my 15% off gift certificate that can't be used online. I was ONLY going to get W Juliet volume 1, so when they didn't have it (because in-person Barnes and Noble stores SUCK for graphic novel selection), I fended off the urge to start like five new series instead (because I couldn't decide) and bought Howl's Moving Castle and Castle in the Air by Diana Wynne Jones instead. It was close, though: I carried Sugar Sugar Rune volume one around the whole store with me . . .

I probably should spend the rest of tonight studying for Property, but actually, after I study the rest of present interests and all of future interests, I'm going to edit chapter 8 of WSC so I can send Ana an updated copy that doesn't suck (sorry about that . . .) and start chapter 9, because I want to get the painful memories of my own stupidity out of the way. This is harder than I thought it would be, definitely. One of my reasons for doing the plot the way I did was to search for my own redemption, but it's not an easy path. After that, I'll read more Narnia. YAY!

I kind of want to start a forum on ff.net for WSC, because I think it's a cool idea, but I'd be upset if no one had anything to say on it. Hmmmm. Will ponder that one.

Episode 9 of Hana Yori Dango = *SQUEE* And that's all I have to say about that for right now.

[EDIT]

As you can see, I re-made my "in the end, it doesn't even matter" Rock Lee icon in honor of the angst. ph33r the angst! I had lost the screencap sometime between the first and second icons, so I had to go watch episode 50 again to get it. Pardon me while I go collapse in a corner and cry for a day. OMG that is like the most intense episode of anime I've ever watched! Remember how I was a wreck for a WEEK afterwards when I first saw it, until Anne told me what happens later on?
