Just to show how pleased he was to see him, he delivered a violent blow to Gilbert's leg using his cane. "Out and about again, I see."

"A-ah..."
Gilbert stifled the sound that inevitably ran up his throat and did his best to only stagger a step or so backwards. The leg that had been hit stayed bent somewhat, leaving his posture set in an awkward mid-limp position. Still, he tried to sound oh-so-sweet, as he demurred:
"You, too. Did you not like the reading in your Latin class, today?"

His lip twitched in disgust at the pathetic come back, but that was pretty brief because his expression returned to the usual, confident smirk, of course, his hand clutching his cane tightly.
"Should I assume you were too busy to pay attention to the rules? Or did you intentionally ignore them to get punished?" It was neither, he knew, but he just enjoyed mocking him.
