Okay, back to business...

I must apologize for the lack of sewing content in this journal...since, like, ages. I admit I've been totally preoccupied with all the changes that have occurred in the last few months and trying to settle into a new way of life. Lack of free time has really cut into all my hobbies.

But! I'm now feeling much less anxious (post-first meeting, post-midterms) and more settled and ready to sew and craft again. I've got a simple project coming up that I'm super excited about! I've taken the easy route and bought a Simplicity pattern, although I'm still looking for suitable fabric.

My cousin Franky--the one I taught dance for this summer--is having a boy at the end of November and I've decided to make her one of those shopping cart covers. You know, the ones that you put in the front compartment of the shopping cart where the kids sit with their feet stuck through those holes; protecting their delicate skin from all the uncomfortable metal bars and grody pathogens that cover shopping carts. Practical, washable, and unique!

I've been looking for a dark blue/navy fabric to make it. In a perfect world, I'd find one with a nice moon-and-stars print, but beggars can't be choosers. :)
