Hmm. So I've gotten past the fact that my hair is radioactively red and looks like a neon bike reflector. Maybe it will safe my life one day. In fact, I really like it. I've missed being a redhead, there is something psychologically satisfying and empowering about it.
In other news, I finally got around to seeing Mad Hot Ballroom this afternoon and it was absolutely wonderful. Well made documentaries warm my heart and bring joy to my otherwise mundane life. Apres Vous, a French film, is playing at Circle Cinema and was also great. I love French comedies - they are so beautifully twisted.
I finished my TCC courses last week and managed to make As in both my classes, INCLUDING BIOLOGY. I feel really guilty and undeserving of my grades. To be honest, I learned very little about the mysteries of molecular life and wasn't motivated to read more than 1/3 of the assigned material. David sent me a lovely Le Guinn book in the mail the other day (thanks, David!) so I'm very anxious to get started reading it.
Apart from seeing Mad Hot Ballroom, I also learned how to play Magic. YES, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, perhaps the most notorious geek staple of all time. Since 1993 it has exploded in the gaming circles of socially impaired kids who are pariahs, isolated from the outside world because they try to write their English essays in HTML and would prefer to play RPGS rather than having a girlfriend. Just kidding, just kidding. Although there most certainly ARE kids (and adults) like that, I am completely accepting of geeks and more than proud to be an aspiring one myself.
So, if you want someone to totally show you up with a 7/7 creature and impressive artifacts, CALL ME. Um. Actually, I really don't know how to play and I only have one deck that Adam got me. Please don't whoop my ass.
On that note, I'm off to bed! I love you guys. Please call me if we haven't talked in a while-- chances are I miss you! I'm extremely ecstatic to be done with my summer courses and I'm ready for some happening social action. <3
Oh, but, I still don't read anyone's LJ, so don't be offended if you posted something uber important and I don't know.
