ok so today. it was pretty normal. classes, basketball, basketball classes, the usual. until dinner. after a hard day's work and a couple hours of basketball, kaycee and i ventured to gator corner, the corner of the gator. and this is where things got interesting. we were making our rounds to see what they had to eat. we kept in mind the fact that there would be free pizza when we returned to beaty, but still were hungry. so im walking, and i see the burgers, already had one of those the other day... but next to those were corn dogs. now, i havent had a corn dog in who knows how long.. so i went for it. i had a corn dog! the hot dog inside was nothing special, but that corn stuff on the outside, and the fact that its food on a stick, wow. mmm. BUT THE STORY DOESNT STOP THERE! so we go to get our cereal. and its always been our dream to ask some athletes to give us some soft serve. because here's the deal: the athletes have a separate room.. and they have soft serve ice cream. so we're by the cereal and we see some athletes and we say
"hey are you guys athletes?"
"yea"
"do you get soft serve?"
"yea"
"do you think you could get us some?"
"um i think we'd get in trouble"
"oh, ok then"
so then they come back after we have filled some bowls with cereal, and say "ok we're gonna try" (woohoo!!) so what do we do with our cereal? we cant carry them and the ice cream at the same time, so i go to bring 2 of our 4 bowls to the table so kaycee can receive the ice cream. so as i'm absent, this guy walks up to the cereal by kaycee and starts taking corn pops. and by "this guy" i mean chris leak. yes, chris leak, eyes and all. haha so i missed this, but apparently she got a good stare in and then said "hi" while his friend (maybe some other local celebrity?) laughed. he said "hey how ya doin?" and his friend said "do you know him?" to which kaycee said no, and that was that. the brush with fame. i came up in time to catch a glimpse enough to see who it was and watch him walk away.
then the athletes returned, with a styrofoam (big) cup of soft serve, swirl, with two spoons. we walk back to the table and start to indulge in our long awaited treasure. (we kept the spoons)it was GOOD. and THEN, we see a kid with rice krispie treats. so yea we have one of those too. after that, cereal just didnt taste the same.
then we had a cold run/walk home in the weather that wont make up its mind, it was cold. we sang into our previously mentioned spoons, and made it back.
then was the free pizza.
so give me a mark, because this day was GOOD.
i have to write an essay about a wonderful meal, i think this could turn into something here.
so today some guy preaching in turlington said that girls shouldnt work or get money, but just stay home with the kids. i missed this part of his speech, but when my friend informed me of the fact that i not only couldnt be going to school to get a job, but also couldnt wear pants, i was quite upset. i wondered what the guy would think of me in shorts and playing basketball.
