It's actually really hard to find a job that uses my degree of: Mathematics B.S.. I've been applying to jobs all around the country. Mathematician-type jobs are just relatively rare, and 99% of the time require a higher degree and/or more experience. I also have a temporary teaching license, but I haven't yet landed a job with that either. This difficulty in upgrading my career (I do have a job) has led me to decide to do a few things differently:
-Make use of a larger number of job search engines
-Spend more of my free time searching and applying for jobs. Possibly even develop some sort of structure to the job-seeking process
-Take every opportunity to increase my credentials, especially with regards to online classes.
Until I get that final rejection from Air Force Officer Training School, I really can't sign a lease anywhere, knowing that I might have to unexpectedly relocate. But I'll tell you what, I'm freakin desperate to get my own place, which rather than living with my mom, will afford more opportunities for social situations, intimate situations, and just having dignity in general. If I had those things, I'd be a lot happier. But first I gotta get a higher paying job to support the added expenses.
