I cannot believe how fast this summer went by.
So what I learned this summer in general and about myself:
+Living on my own is not too bad... I just had to man up and kill thousands of insects on my own.
+Geotechnical engineering is definitely the emphasis I want to pursue.
+Working, having a morning/evening commute, making money, bringing home the bacon, paying my bills has been so fun. I love living like an adult and I cannot wait until I actually have a career.
+I love
The Woody Show. I especially love Woody (he's hot for a 30 year old man.)
+I love men in the twenties with random strands of gray hair. People find it gross, I find it sexy. I like to think they get their grays from working so damn hard.
+Being away from home for over 5+ months was not as bad as I thought it would be. I realized that I am independent and I will continue to be.
+I've embraced all the dorky engineering knowledge I could possibly learn and I've also realized that book smarts is not all that companies are looking for. I am really fortunate to have great professional and social qualities to help me get by in the real world.
+Although I have made baby changes in improving myself this summer, I know I still have lots to work on and I want to fix it.
+People change and come and go but as long as I depend on just myself, I won't have anyone to let me down.
So here are some good things about working this summer:
+I have a really good amount of money saved for Europe or possibly South America next summer when I am done with school. I'm glad someone came up with the idea of a CD account. I could be really tempted at times to just spend.
+I know I can always go back to ENGEO when I am done with school.
+I finally got myself something nice since I worked hard:
Now here's what I have to look forward to until mid December:
-4 technical classes
-E-board member of HES and co-manager of graphics for Canoe
-possibly research or if that falls through, working part-time at the PRC again
-CAL FOOTBALL!!!
-My parents coming up for homecoming in October
-Possibly heading to Philadelphia to find another internship/job on Oct 31- Nov 4
-SO MUCH HW AND TESTS
-E.I.T exam Oct. 27th
-Studying for the GRE's
-Meeting more people in classes
-Being completely open to dating or even a relationship if it comes along but with all of the above, will I really have the time?
So with that, I will end my last entry of summer.
So long sweet summer...
Hello Autumn!
