Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK
This is kind of like one of those situations where so many of my fan dreams have come true that I am still in too much shock to capslock.
So let's start with non-capslock recaps:
Bennet Thanksgiving: V. boring and I continue to severely dislike this magical retcon long-lost almost-lover business. It takes a bunch away from how devastated Bennet was toward the end of S3 when Sandra left him, I think, (that part where Bennet thinks Sandra's Sylar and holds her at gunpoint was one of my favorite scenes of those arcs), and on a purely superficial level, Law&Order woman's habit of laughing through every single fucking line is grating like I can't even explain. D8 Sandra is much more likeable, even if her boyfriend was such a dweeb ffffffffffff.
Carnival Thanksgiving: Yup, Samuel killed his brother; called it. I do like, however, that he reacted with immediate and honest grief. I do not like how they included that Slow Burn daughter or whatever dskfhaksfhjas seriously? And eh, idk, other than Samuel, I haven't really connected with any carny folk, and I do think having Samuel try to frame someone else made him seem like a little more of a generic villain than the edgy manipulator he was before? Idk idk. Also wat this show redefines the meaning of time travel abuse ggghhhh.

........OH FUCK HERE I GO ANYWAY I DON'T CARE ABOUT OVERDONE LIGHTNING OR REALLY BAD FACE SHIFTING OR THE FACT THAT THE PETRELLIS GOT LESS SCREEN TIME THAN EVERYONE ELSE THIS SHOW HAS GIVEN ME WHAT. I. WANT. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD THAT REALLY IS NATHAN IN THERE WHICH MEANS IT WAS NATHAN IN THERE ALL ALONG AND HE HAS AGENCY AND FIGHTING FOR HIS EXISTENCE WITHIN SOMEONE ELSE'S SKIN, WHO HAPPENS TO BE HIS KILLER AND ALSO MY SECOND FAVORITE CHARACTERIUSDGHLIAUDGHL (spoilers for next episode) And if Nathan has to die, as much as it will break my heart, I could think of no better way for me to part with his character than with an identity crisis bang. If they do this well, I think I'd actually prefer it to him just living on normally and them doing shit boring things with his character. That sounds terrible, but... after all the nonsense in S3, I unfortunately have to say it. T__T Oh god. I MEAN I COULD THINK OF A MILLION INTERESTING THINGS THEY COULD DO WITH HIM but you know heroes writers they just wouldn't udfhaksl
I think one of my favorite parts of the entire episode was where we first see Nathan, passed out on Peter's bed and being tormented in his sleep and clutching that bottle in his hand. Just. It did a really good job of implying his freaking out rather than showing in gross detail, as did his grabbing Angela's arm and talking at the table and having wet eyes and isuayriashf I CAN'T HANDLE IT, GUYS. Adrian also did an awesome job with the Sylartalking just before Nathan turned into him, along with the "We never should have gone to Texas, Pete" sjhfaksjhdfa Nathan losing himself ksdfhaifhilas T___T
AND PETER. OGOD PETER. I love how throughout the end of the last episode and most of this one, he's just... staring at Nathan (STARED AT HIM SLEEPING and like isuhafdkas WHERE DID HE SLEEP THAT NIGHT THERE IS NO OTHER SOFT SURFACE IN THAT APARTMENT) with this kind of wary suspicion/emoness, like he can't convince himself that the Nathan in front of him is really his brother, and yet he's the one to be like NATHAN'S FIGHTIN' FOR US CHEER HIM ON and like FROM THEN ON HE IS CONVINCED: NATHAN IS IN THERE AND HE WILL SAVE HIM NO MATTER WHAT GODDAMMIT ijhfdakjhsflkas. And God, Angela is so fucking insane to keep her family "together" it's scary and shfaklskjfha DYSFUNCTIONAL PETRELLIS FTW
And of course, MY GUY SYLAR. Like. My first thought upon seeing him devour that pumpkin pie shouldn't have been "HEY THE MESSY QUICHE-EATING I HAD HIM DO IN damned WAS IC AWESOME" ifhksdjhfks and I FEEL LIKE ALL HIS SNARK HAS BEEN REALLY GREAT LATELY (maybe he just has good stuff to snark about). And oh god, just. Peter in that chair, staring at him AND JUST HOW MUCH PURE HATRED PETER WAS EXUDING IT WAS KIND OF ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE.
And that preview for the next episode. Like. I absolutely adore this SCARY FUCKING RAGE Peter is slipping into so comfortably and it reminds me so much of manga!Roy in FMA OH GOD THE PARALLELS ABOUT THE ENTIRE SITUATION ARE KIND OF INSANE, THANKS, FANDOMS. But just, yeah, that Peter will so obviously do anything to either get Nathan back or to get revenge on the one who took him away, and that he'd do it without a second thought - it's... SO SEXY TO ME JESUS. AND THAT PREVIEW. LIKE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I ADORE SYLAR BUT EVEN I THINK THAT PETER NEEDS TO BEAT. THE. LIVING. SHIT OUT OF HIM AND AS A SERIES CLIMAX KILL HIM IN SOME INSANELY BRUTAL WAY.
And just. Not only is this identity crisis with my favorite character as the focal point of it and my second favorite character as the antagonist, but it's also identity crisis with the person I pair them with knowing the circumstances and believing it's them regardless of the odds.
And that
is exactly what
I want.
I still can't believe how incredibly specifically the circumstances of this arc pander to me. It's just... fucking insane. Fucking insane.
Also, both my computers are being royal bitches to me and Safari refuses to work. Again. And Firefox spinning-rainbows me into oblivion whenever I try to like put two words into a web form a.k.a. LJ comment skjhfaks T____T
