Funny story: my mom wanted to see the Heroes premiere from my recording on the DVR, but we ended up sitting down to watch it on the night that my dad was trying to get her ready to leave for one of their timeshares that they're spending a few days at. My dad got all miffed that she wasn't packing yet, and my mom got all pouty and was like "CRAIG, CAN I JUST FINISH THIS FIRST???"
Now they're going to be swinging by here to pick me up and bring me up there for a night, and my mom wants to get here early so she can watch the second half of the premiere with me. Pfffffffffft. Also watched it with Max and we had this exchange:
-Heroes S3 spoilers!-
Me: OH GOD HERE COMES MY FAVORITE SCENE
Max: What happens?
Me: You'll see.
(Nathan walks out of the hospital.)
Max: Does he fly out of nowhere?
Me: I WISH.
(He walks into the church.)
Max: Does he have amnesia?
Me: I'D WISH THAT TOO.
(He sits down.)
Max: .............HE DOESN'T START PRAYING TO JESUS, DOES HE?
Me: OH YES HE DOES. OH YES HE DOES.
My mom also thought it was retarded.
I've found that Reverend Nathan is a little more bearable in subsequent viewings, though that could just be the gaping wound scabbing over before next week's episode rips it off again. Seriously, though, he seems unfuckinghinged in those episodes. I can only hope someone really did fuck with his head, and not just in a fake-God-vision way, because Nathan wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for that shit. Mind control, though? That could be hot. And forgiveable, even if it physically pains me to see him that way. I just hope it doesn't last too long, especially considering that it's making what would otherwise be an intriguing return to politics just a repetition of his mistakes from S1, and this time, they'll be motivated by stupidity rather than moral ambiguity.
Still, other than Mohessica and SYLAR I AM YOUR MOTHER, I found I did love everything else they were doing. It's a shame that the sucky points have to be so goddamn horrible. :/
Annnd...
-Supernatural 402 spoilers!- Meanwhile, Supernatural continues to deliver the good angel shit. While I was still just a teeny bit wary about Castiel after the premiere, this episode has solidified my very much liking of him. I really like how they're pulling the angelic angle of I-can-kick-your-ass-so-many-ways-so-shut-your-bitch-mouth rather than the typical preachy crap we see from angels on TV. So far, he's coming off half-shady and badass, which is awesome.
Also, omg ghosts. Kinda said that it's confirmed that Henrickson is dead now, though. D: And as cool as human!Meg was, I'm totally awaiting the return of demon!Meg. Because I love that bitch. <3 Also, to jump on the bandwagon, LOL PANIC ROOM. AWESOME. It was cool to see the teaser's "chump" be a hunter, but the fact that she was a potentially cool female hunter made her immediate death kinda sad. D:
ALSO OMG NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE? THAT'S LIKE THE GOOD KIND OF HEROES SHIT RIGHT THERE. SO EXCITED. THANK YOU, SUPERNATURAL, FOR BEING CONSISTENTLY AWESOME. <333
Anyway, Court did amuse me by pointing out that when under the impression of being chosen by God, Dean is like "WHY ME?" while Nathan is like "OF COURSE ME." So maybe there is some real Nathan left in there. D:
Oh, and also, as a bonus on Mondo-Thursdays, I get me some Sunny too.
This is why I love this show. (I still want to write a crossover fanfic where Matt and Nathan, while on their trip to Philadelphia in S2, somehow end up at Paddy's. The possibilites are endless.)
