Man, I haven't updated in like... over two weeks. D8 This is especially weird considering that important shit has actually been going on:
• My brother went off to college! I thought I'd be sad, but the only real difference in my life has been peace and quiet and the occasional realization of HEY I DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT MY LITTLE BROTHER SCREWING ____ UP ANYMORE. As our final family excursion, we went to see The Dark Knight in IMAX; my second time in IMAX, their first time. They were all v. impressed, which is saying something considering this was my parents' THIRD TIME seeing the movie. YEAH. MY PARENTS. THREE TIMES JESUS. My grand total is five times now ogawd.
• I started the fall semester of school! \o/ I'm taking Speech 1, Astronomy 1, and Film 1. In Film 1, I somehow ended up sitting next to this girl who ended up in my mini-discussion group and with whom I had the following exchanges:
Girl: Hey!
Me: Hi!
Girl: So, um... any favorite movies?
Me: Hahaha, I think Dark Knight is looking like my all-time right now. I've seen it five times now, geez...
Girl: Hahaha, that's okay! I've only seen it... four times.
I figured yeah, okay, Batman's popular right now, BUT THEN...!
Girl: So you guys grew up here?
Me & Group: Yeah!
Girl: Yeah, I'm from the East Coast, so it's nuts to see all the movie stuff going on here. Like, my landlord rents out our apartment complex for filming, and so far, it's been stuff I don't really care about, but then I heard they're gonna be filming Heroes there...
Me: .....ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! (Translation: You get to be near Heroes filming and YOU ACTUALLY CARE?! On TOP of BATMAN?!)
Girl: YEAH! I'm hoping so bad for Milo's autograph, hahaha...
Me: Hahaha! (Translation: I think I just hit the college class buddy jackpot...)
We ended up talking about shows and movies and stuff during the break and she also fangirled the exact same way over how Dark Knight was written so amazingly and adapted so brilliantly from the comics specifically with the parallels between Two-Face and the Joker and Batman and SO DELICIOUS kasdjhfk which is something I uh DID NOT EXPECT to come across RANDOMLY. Plus, she's interested in writing. WHUT.
I also ended up running into an old high school class buddy with whom I rambled with about MGS back in the day, so we exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses and stuff, which was cool. :D
• I FINALLY finished season 2 of Dexter! Unfortunately, Dexter suffers the same fate as Heroes in that its first season is absolutely phenomenal and then its second season is uh.... not. D: Still, while the ending was kind of dissatisfying to me, it was a hell of a lot better than the middle of the season. FOR BOTH SHOWS I WISH THE BEST OF LUCK FOR SEASON 3.
• Speaking of Heroes: Watched the deleted scenes on Court's s2 DVDs... AND NOW I KNOW WHERE NATHAN DISAPPEARED TO IN S2, JESUS. !Deleted Scenes & S2 Spoilers! OH, GLORIOUS DRUNKEN NATHAN REMINISCING ABOUT DRUNKEN TREEHOUSES AND DRUNKEN PETER. When Nathan delivered that line, Court and I had to pause the scene because were laughing so hard. SERIOUSLY, DO THE WRITERS MAKE BETS ON HOW CLOSE THEY CAN TOE THE GAY LINE? BECAUSE I CAN'T COME UP WITH ANY OTHER EXPLANATION. And DELETED SCENES GAVE ME MOAR TWO-FACE!NATHAN, YES. I mean it's not like the people responsible for writing and drawing one of the most well-known Two-Face origin stories are intrinsically involved in-owait. GOOD JOB, GUYS. ...Nah, but seriously, I have a thing for morally-torn, half-disfigured D.A.'s. :( ...even if Harvey's gloriously hideous skullface makes Nathan's burns look like the bad makeup goo they are, pffffft. And also omg @ Nathan wanting badly to exploit a small, traumatized child to find his brother ahahahaha. <3 It's a good thing, Petrellis, that the reason I adore you so much because you're so absolutely fucked up. <3 KEEP IT UP.
...SPEAKING OF FUCKED UP PETRELLIS HOLY FUCKING SHIT FUTURE!PETER SHOT NATHAN WHAT WHAT HOLY SHIT THIS SERIES MIGHT ACTUALLY BE AWESOME AGAIN WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (Also, carnality totally called it months ago.)
It was also really cool to see MOAR NATHANSdkfjshfds ::foams at mouth:: the alternate ending for S2 and all of the now-unuseable footage that came of it. Definitely makes the DVDs of an otherwise disappointing season worth the money for a hardcore Heroes fan IMHO.
...AND I NEED TO WORK MORE ON BATMAN APP AHHHHHHHH and omg SYLAR AND PETER DUKIN' IT OUT KINDA WOOO
