I finally, FINALLY have cable internet access again, as of this morning. It's even the same cable company that I had back in Long Beach, even the modem looks the same, with the exception of what I think is a reset button on top.
I learned a few things while conversing with TJ (a shift manager) at closing last night, about how anal corporations are with "sexual harassment" and so forth. I mean, no one should have to endure any kind of offensive behavior; I'm all for that, but it's when people take most minuscule remarks and ruin someone's job because of it, they are just plain screwed, or have a severe chemical imbalance. Here's what happened, from what I was told: a former associate was fired because he had reasurred a female that she was not fat, when she had implied that she was. She was a lesbian, mind you, so I don't know if she had any animosity towards the man personally, or because she was one of those "man hatin' lesbos", and there was also a witness which helped seal the deal. I was flabbergasted. I didn't know that it was possible to get fired for something to incredibly minute. I guess I'll really have to watch my tongue.
