On the 20th anniversary of his death I still lived in Memphis.
I worked in a Bookstar that was an old converted theatre. A theatre that Elvis used to rent out exclusively to have his own private movie premiers and party hardy in and all that jazz. It was listed on the "must see" maps of Memphis for the tourists.
We had Elvis music steady on the overhead for two weeks. We had Elvis impersonator contests. We had a giant velvet Elvis painting. We had tourists. Lots of them.
I don't recommend being anywhere NEAR Memphis, TN in August.
In Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire novel series there is a dim-witted Vampire named "Bubba" That says "thank you, thank you very much." way too often. Yes, she's suggesting that Elvis was turned (after he should have been, which is why he's dim-witted) and that explains all the Elvis sightings. It's amuseing. I really like the books despite that fact :-)
Yea, I don't think he's in that one. I can't remember if it's the 2nd or 3rd book where he come in. It's not that much of a spoiler, so I won't appologize. But I love the series. Sookie is just so god-damned sensable (and sort-of reminds me of asciikitty for no good reason)
