First:
MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW! MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW! MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW! MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW! MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW! MY HONEY GETS HOME TOMORROW!
Okay, I'm a little excited about that. He's been gone TWELVE days!! Eeeek!
Now for the less fun part:
Tomorrow I should get a call from Mom's surgeon telling us when the surgery and whatnot will be. He decided that the Xray didn't give him enough information, so he wants her to have a colonoscopy before he goes in, but he was nice enough to listen to our concerns and "piggyback" the surgery on the scope. So, the schedule will be:
Day One: the awful liquids & laxatives prep like we did last Tuesday.
Day Two: colonoscopy + admitted to hospital, clear liquids rest of day.
Day Three: surgery
And then however many days it takes her to recover from that.
And then whatever other fallout there may be.
See, when people with Alzheimer's have illness or major physical things like this, the physical setback is accompanied by a mental setback. And they recover from the physical just fine, but not so easily the mental. Maybe I've said this before, but I'm much more scared about that aspect of it than I am the physical, however major & uncomfortable that may be.
*sigh*.
When all this is over and Mom is either able to be on her own or is getting daily help, My Honey and I are going to run away and be kids for a while together! We're seriously discussing Disney... :-D {{{grin}}} Something to look forward to!!
Okay, that's all for now - I gotta get to bed, 'cause when I wake up, it's The Day My Honey Comes Home!!! Hooray!!!
