I've been writing a little bit of fanfic the past few days and so have been looking at fanfic communities and challenges, and have run into at least two that say "no slash" in the rules/profiles. Now, my question is, what if I was writing a Queer as Folk fanfic? Obviously, most of the pairings would be of a homosexual nature, so would it still be 'slash' even though it's canon? Would I not be allowed to post a canon fic from a fandom that involved homosexual couples?
I refuse to join a community that won't allow fics about gay couples, canon or not, so it's really too bad those two said that, because I really liked them otherwise.
