     When Grizelle "traded" Polli over to the marauders, it seemed it was for food and shelter. Jared is resentful but another of the purchased slaves, Thera,  describes it as "even good queens sometimes have to make bitter choices". The odd thing though is that when they arrive at the shelter, it is decorated and set up for the Queen. The marauders had made the effort for them to be comfortable.
     Obviously the marauders are under the queen's rule and respect her otherwise they would not put so much effort into making her comfortable for 1 slave. Any common marauders would have required more payment for the treatment and the slave would only have bought them the "not being killed" option. I believe Jared already understands this but the thought has just not surfaced.
