I love Valentine's day so much. even when i was single i freaking loved it. what's not to love about a holiday that's all about showing people you love them with actually affordable tokens of appreciation that won't break the bank?
I know it's late for this, but i had the best idea and i wanted to share.
So i am not that person who gets v'day gifts for my SO and that's it. I like to make things for a few people who matter to me as well, but obviously with vd being right after christmas, no one has a lot of money. so i found these whiskey sampler kits online. you can try five high end whiskeys for $38-$68; depending on which ones you try. This is kind of expensive.
I live and work in very affluent areas. Which means that there's rarely any alcohol (rare or not) that i don't have access to. That's a good thing about being in wealthy areas i guess, being able to buy things in person rather than online.
Anyways. I put together whiskey samplers for the whiskey lovers in my life. Each person gets to try 5 different bourbons or whiskeys. Each small bottle has a hand written quote about whiskey on it.
Here are some of the quotes I'm using:
"you're the moon in my shine, the whiskey in my water" <~~this is from a country song and i can't figure out who sings it!
“Whiskey, like a beautiful woman, demands appreciation. You gaze first, then it's time to drink.”

“Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.”
― Mark Twain
“Love makes the world go round? Not at all. Whiskey makes it go round twice as fast.”

Anyways, if you have someone in your life that enjoys spirits or wine of any kind, it's relatively cheap to buy small single shots of said spirit and to attach quotes about the spirits (just google) the same goes for wine, though you're probably better off just buying one bottle and attaching one really meaningful quote, or even a poem.
