Wicker Man 2006
Let me just start with a loud, resounding, "what the CRAP?" Have you ever had something you truly loved, cherished? And then watched someone take that very thing and destroy it, breaking any good part of it? That what it feels like to watch the remake of The Wicker Man, if you've seen and loved the original.
Nicholas Cage used to be a pretty decent actor (sometime around "City of Angels"), but this is embarassing. Why is he not more religious? He should be a firm believer in upholding the Christian Ideal (tm), not this simple Californian motorcycle cop. Also, he needs to stop trying to follow in Dale Cooper's footsteps. His dreams don't lead to any revelations, unlike another LEO sent to the Great Northwest.
And Summerzisle? Again, what the crap? And where's the cheery folk songs? And the men? I miss the maypole song, and the boys and Ash Buchanan.
What's with Willow? She went from a blonde sexpot to this ugly, simpering wretch.
All in all, a horrible movie. Once again, Hollywood has made mockery of something near and dear to me.
