History 1320 aka HELL

Today I had my first history test. Yesterday, Michael and I studied 7 1/2 hours. Our teacher gave us 9 essay topics to know in DETAIL, names, dates, order, everything. 9. And he was going to pick how many for the actual test? One. Does anyone else see a problem with this? "Here, memorize IN DETAIL 9 essays and I'll pick one when you take the test." Also there were 15 fill in the blank, each counting 3 points. The honker was the essay, which was work 55 points. So it's actally more like "Here, memorize 9 essays, I'll pick one, and then... I'll only give you 55 points for it." So basically, you study your ASS off for an essay worth 55 freaking points. WHATEVER. So I get into class, and I get my test. Glance at the essay question. No freaking clue. I wrote 3 sentences for my essay, and one of the sentences was even incorrect. I knew 10 of the fill in the blank. I just made a 30 on my history test (assuming I got all of those fill in the blanks correct). For the rest of my essay I wrote to my professor telling him that I don't expect him to baby his students but that his testing method was outrageous and cruel. I don't even remember what I wrote, but I went on and on and then I told him I wanted to arrange a meeting with him so he can help me understand why the FUCK ANYONE WOULD ASSIGN NINE DETAILED ESSAY QUESTIONS FOR ONE FREAKING TEST. Michael and I calculated that assuming we both got 30s, although I think Michael will get at least a 50, we can only average a 76 overall grade IF we get three 90s and one 80 on the remaining tests. This is slightly discouraging as I'm sure you can imagine. Who wants to study their ass off to get a 2.0 in a class?
