A/N: This spontaneous little ficlet was generated from a request by
Tielan for ‘comment fic’.
I cannot believe he risked our future for the sake of some distant country’s policy. We are here now, and the choices made affect us, not some country millions of light years away!
Now…I can only stare incredulously, as he rises off the ground, as young and vigorous as before.
The Wraith said it was a Gift, the life it had returned. A gift indeed! He had almost ended us before we truly began!
The others rush to help him, and he focuses on everyone but me, refusing to meet the accusation in my eyes. I cannot change the way I feel, I have lost so much already; how could he have so easily given that order?
“Don’t do it!” he had shouted, and my world came crashing down.
Watching that Wraith suck the life out of him, was the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. With each feeding he died a little more, and I died with him.
And now…
