There was a vote on whether the Greek system should be allowed to stay on the Hearst campus. The swing vote (guest star Patty Hearst) is the granddaughter of the founder of the college and also head of the family business, making her very wealthy. At the reception the night before the vote, Veronica is there taking pictures, and the swing vote goes missing. The Dean hires Keith and Veronica to investigate her disappearance. So, Keith and Veronica investigate, and here's where I didn't totally understand what was going on, but the swing vote's husband was having an affair with the dog-walker who was a Zeta Theta sister (from earlier this season), and he was able to blackmail his wife into disappearing until just after their 10th anniversary (apparently if you're married for at least ten years you entitled to 50% of everything) so that he could get more money. Keith and Veronica devise a plan to help the swing vote prove that her husband was a cheat and blackmailer so that she could divorce him before the 10 year mark. In the end, she decides that she's voting to kick the Greek system off campus.

And that was only the A-plot. One of the sub-plots involved the President of the Pi Sig fraternity house ending up passed out on the quad with his head shaved and a plastic easter egg stuck...where the sun don't shine, if you get my drift. Veronica finds out about this and is very interested to see the egg, because she heard something about a roman numeral being written on the egg. She talks to Dick Casablancas (a Pi Sig brother and former HS classmate) and also finds out that the fraternity house is beginning "Sex Quest '06" which is when the brothers get a certain amount of points for sleeping with girls, and the points are tallied as roman numerals (this is in the season 2 episode "The Rapes of Graff"). Dick helps Veronica find the egg, and inside are a bunch of Scrabble letters that Veronica figures out is a date. She looks up the date in newspaper back issues and finds out that on that date a Zeta Theta pledge walked off the roof of the Zeta Theta house. This leads to Veronica asking the aforementioned dog-walking Zeta Theta sister about the incident, and she refers Veronica to Claire (the girl who faked her rape) saying that Claire was part of the girl's pledge class.

Veronica goes to Claire's apartment and finds Claire, Nish, and Fern. They tell her that a few years ago, as part of the Zeta Theta rush, the girls were made to strip in front of a two-way mirror and the sisters would mark the parts of their bodies that needed improvement and then they would reveal that the Pi Sig brothers were on the other side of the mirror watching them. Apparently, the girl who walked off the roof needed a lot of improvement and was covered in permanent marker. The Pi Sigs laughed at her, and she was so upset she walked off the roof of the house. Claire, Nish, and Fern were really upset about what happened and have wanted to get back at the Pi Sigs. Veronica comes to the realization that it probably wasn't just Claire's rape that was faked and wonders how many more were faked to get back at the Pi Sigs.

Logan and Veronica aren't doing so well, either. After what happened last week, Logan tells Veronica that she should stay away from the rape case. She tells him she can't do that, because it's within her nature to get to the bottom of this mystery. Logan's really upset, because he doesn't want Veronica to get hurt again. Veronica gets pissed off and stops answering his calls. Logan, without her knowledge, hires a private security person to protect Veronica. When she does find out, she gets mondo pissed off at him and confronts him about it. He basically tells her that she wants him to make changes for her, but she's not willing to make any changes for him. He says that he loves her and asks if she loves him back. She can't say it, but just says "Yeah" and half-heartedly makes up with him. It turns out she's still upset at him, because we see her in food court and her phone is ringing. She sees that Logan is calling and decides not to answer. Then we see that Logan is standing off to the side of the food court and saw her ignore his call.

You can watch the episode next Sunday at 9.
