It was over. Dué le Quartz was soon to be the past and now the only thing left was to tell everyone. The vocalist was hesitant to do so, to admit that things were ending and the wedge was to far driven between them. Everyone else knew except Miyabi, and telling the youngest member seemed far too cruel. He sat at the edge of his bed, legs curled under him and sheet draped around his shoulders. Skin was bare, coated in sweat from a room that was just a little too hot despite the coolness of the fall.
Miyabi was curled on the floor not far from his bed, holding tight to his guitar and playing idly as if Sakito didn’t exist. It was his life, Sakito mused as he watched the young man. He knew Miyabi, knew he had nothing else. All their lives would continue after the disband, but Miyabi, what would happen to him?
“Miya...” he called softly, the younger showing no reaction at first. He finished off his train of thought before glancing up at Sakito with a curious sort of smirk.
“Hai?” he replied, voice bright and lips curled upwards.
Sakito just stared a long moment, closing his eyes and sighing deeply. “... Nothing.” Some how, Miyabi seemed to suddenly carry a look of disappointment, pursing his lips in that certain way before looking back down to the guitar. It was a soothing sound, the new tune Miyabi was strumming out, and even with the dreaded news hanging over Sakito’s head the blonde man leaned back on the bed to relax for the moment. Why did he have to ruin this moment? Telling could wait, after all.
Miyabi’s hand stopped suddenly, slapping down hard over the strings and startling Sakito to glance over sharply. Miyabi was staring at the floor, a frown plastered over his lips. “You really don’t have anything to say to me?” he asked softly and Sakito’s heart sank. Miyabi looked up, staring intently. “I’m not a child, Saki...”
Sakito sat up once more, pulling the sheets tighter around him as Miyabi stood. His thin body was clad only in pajama pants, plaid and reaching down to bare feet as he stood. Sakito pushed himself up off the bed when Miyabi turned around. “Miya..?” he mumbled, unsure now. The younger man set the guitar down, leaning it back on the wall and Sakito knew by the way his body seemed to tense up. Miyabi already knew. “Who told you...?” he said with a small sigh, looking down in defeat.
“Not you.” he said, looking back with a small, forced smile. Sakito cringed. He was bit surprised when Miyabi didn’t just walk away and instead turned back, lifting a hand to Sakito’s cheek. He was about to stumble out an apology, to go on about how he should have told him as soon as he knew, but Miyabi pulled him forward into a small kiss and the words just fell to pieces. “Saki.. why do you always...” he sighed. “You don’t have to protect me or anything, you know?” he said, brow creased with a sense of hurt.
Sakito just nodded, pursing his lips in a scolded sort of way. “I didn’t want to...” he shook his head a bit. “It was worse to hold it in, but I... you look so broken when you cry.” he muttered, thinking to back when he’d first met Miyabi and how the teen had been so depressed with his tear stained cheeks. It was like seeing a porcelain doll cracked and shattered on the floor. Devastating.
Miyabi let out a small sigh, leaning his head back. “PSC is signing me on... solo.” he said bluntly. He paused and Sakito just stared. “I’m different, Saki. I’m not sure how it’ll work out, but I’m going to really change and I hope the fans like it...” he said, lifting a hand to scratch lightly along the edge of his eye as he spoke. He looked down at Sakito then, smiling softly.
“I’m going to be working with Kikasa.”
Miyabi nodded. “Yeah? That’s cool..” he replied with a smile, slowly wrapping arms around Sakito’s frame, drawing him closer into a tight hug.
