So Many Changes

HUGE new update.

My first grandchild was born on June 5, 2013. He's almost the most beautiful baby I've ever seen, I still say his mama has him beat by a hair. He's wonderful and healthy and has a quiet personality so Bitty is adjusting to motherhood as easily as can be expected. She had a rougher time, with an emergency C-section after 2 days of emergency induction failed, which was after 3 days of pre-labor that wasn't going anywhere but insomniatown. But she's healing great and nursing is going wonderfully (thanks to a little help from fenugreek and raspberry leaf tea.) Now if only I can get a week to go down to Puerto Rico when she goes back to help them settle in she'll be just as happy as could be.

Hubby was transferred across the state. The promotion is one of two, the second will happen at some point in our future. Could be a few more weeks, could be a few months, but either way it will make the big move worth it. This promotion almost makes it worth it, if only he hadn't been sent 3 days after the offer on the day Bitty was induced! So we've been without him most of the month, and I don't have anything packed. Of course the moving truck doesn't get here until July 20 so I have LOADS of time. *eyeroll*

I couldn't get either job to transfer me. One doesn't have a location near our new town, and the other needed me to basically go from one store straight to the other, with a weekend off at maximum. Um, no. I'm basically packing up a 4 bedroom house on my own with very little help from the kids. Bitty can't lift anything heavier than baby, the Boy is working 50+ hours a week, and Mouse is still finishing up school while working. They are doing what they can but I'm kind of on my own.

So I quit one job last month and had my last day at the other today. I'm officially unemployed again. Hopefully the job market is rosier where we are going, although our bills will be lower and the first promotion came with a little raise so I've got some wiggle room. I'm going to stretch it by tossing our convenience food, take out splurge habits. And we can, because I'm no longer working two jobs!! OMG roast turkey and chicken stew and squash soup and sweet &sour baked beans!! I really missed cooking.
