So I'm listening to this song I first heard 4 years ago entitled "8 full hours of sleep" one of the versus reads as follows...its pertinence to the current calamity that's occuring in the states shocked me:
"And tomorrow America just might fall apart.
Tomorrow, tell me,
Where will you wake up?
Beyond title, beyond these careers and laws,
Something more than borders on a map..."
Mind you, this might seem pessimistic...but it does go on to say "the sun's always rising in the sky somewhere."

Amidst the absolutely horrible aftermath of Katrina, I've neglected to wholeheartedly give my thanks to those who contributed to and made my early-birthday celebration night the most memorable yet.
To Claire, Becca, Care, Alexa, Flo, Kristen, David, Kerim, Nick, Jack, Eli, Suzi, Chris and Danny: thank you so so so so so much for the wonderful gift...I was in great need (scratch that, want) of getting in touch with music as I've been forgeting recently, during those "harder" times of "stress" (and by quoting I'm acknowleding that these notions really are relative), how many wonderful emotions are evoked through it. I hold you guys deep, deep in my heart. I love you all so much =).
To Tom: you made my week (scratch that, month...year) by giving me the AM! t-shirt. You said you'd wanted to contribute to the aforementioned gift, but I assure you I could not possibly be happier with any piece of cloth in the world. Ha and it's so great that "No Idea" is on the back...fuck a bitch named Fat Wreck Chords. Thank you thank you thank you!
To Claire: those three photos you gave me are without a doubt my favorite photographs in the world. The innocence and essense they embody cannot be compared to anything else. These will be fovever be my most cherished pictures.
To Stebs: Happy birthday mother fucker - may my chicken wings leave an indelible print on yo legal ass!
