I'm not quite sure how to describe the trip...words would definitely not do justice the feelings. The most memorable day was the one when we went to El Yunque, the rainforest, on Sunday which was about an hour and a half away. We arrived, parked the car, began walking along a little path until we hit a fence with a large NO TRESPASSING sign on it. ( Read more... )

Aw man Puerto Rico :( I had an overlay there on the way to and back from the Virgin Islands. I only got to go as far as the Wendy's by the airport (where everything was in Spanish w00t) but I reeeeeally wanted to stay longer. The views from the airplane were so beautiful. Yarr I miss the Caribbean.

(P.S. are you still wanting that email about Chicago? I don't know how many of your questions I answered at Rafa's party so just let me know if you want me to go more in-depth or w.e)

I like the two beach shots with the dark tints. A lot.

Your trip sounds about as awesome as any should be. Glad you had fun.

Now, switch into BC Calc woman.

that sounds exactly like when i was in costa rica, almost too similar. we made it to the cloud forest and found a hidden pathway that led to a steep climb down; saying it was "steep as hell" doesn't do it justice. We must have walked for an hour tripping and slipping through rain and mud. Finally we made it to a small, flat area and we heard water. We knew there was a river, but we didn't know where it was. So we decided to continue and we came to this fork, we chose the one going down and ran as fast as we could. We fell and tripped and cut ourselves up running down until finally it just stopped. THe terrain leveled out and we were surrounded by water. The noise difference was so amazing, the waterfalls were crashing and the river was flowing around all of these rocks. We spent some time there staring up at the canopy we had just come down and to our delight saw spider monkeys at the way top, almost dancing, but not quite. It was incredible.

that's pimp about the spider monkeys...there weren't aaany animals in sight for us unfortunately. but yeah places like those are just indescribable. you feel this primitive joy and it satiates your senses more than you could possibly imagine or possibly elucidate for that matter.

let's go to a rainforest, blake!
