I find I enjoy this journal most after a memorable night...now even more so as the summer accelerates. It was Mike, Kerim, Nick, Daisy and me. We decided around 11 that our objective of the night was to play the game Risk while smoking dope and drinking Coronas. The game commenced at 12 a.m. Seated in the comfort of Mike's Persian adobe, we chose our colors. I was green and I felt overly confident. The mission? Global domination. We set up our units in every territory that the fucked up 1800s map had labeled every so strangely. I began in Alaska, South Africa, Great Britain, Madagascar and India (the rest of which I do not recall). As the game begun endless conflicts regarding rules and regulations arose accompanied by my uncontrollable laughter at the whole fiasco. When does one fortify? How many dice are rolled by the defender? Trivial matters were bathed with laughs. When the game picked up heat, Daisy fell out of the game as my troops invaded her feeble territories of Ontario, Eastern and Western America. Alas, time flew by at the speed of light, and twas 3 a.m! Yarbles! I controlled North America. Nick controlled South America. Mike controlled Asia and Australia. Kerim controlled Turkey. The digital camera was then brought out to take pictures of the map, and of each individual player with cards that stated how many territories they'd claimed next to their smiling, ridiculous, absurd faces.
Tomorrow when the game ensues, I will blast them all to smitherines.
