In the aftermath of the dark tide, Jareth has much to do in order to set the labyrinth to rights. There were walls to raise, puzzles to plan, rooms to find where they had been shuffled away to nowhere. That said, even the master of the maze must rest from time to time, as he is doing now.

Ali sighed, staring at the door, and then knocked again. However reasonably certain she was that she could just sneak in and surprise him, it wouldn't be fair to Jareth to take such liberties with his home when she won't even let him into hers. So she knocks, again, and hopes someone hears her this time, while half her mind is already drifting away to other times and places.

Jareth was just settling into a comfy chair to relax (kept somewhere well away from the goblins, to keep them from getting any ideas). Something keeps impinging on his awareness. At last he snaps, "what is that infernal knocking?"

Knocking... the question brings the answer to his awareness: the Nexus door. A moment's scrying shows him Ali waiting outside. A breath later, the doors swing wide, with him waiting for her all smiles within.

Ali smiles dreamily for a moment, while her mind catches itself up in the moment again. And then she's there, stepping forward to give him a kiss. "Hello. I hope I'm not bothering you?"

"Perish the thought!" he replies, extending a hand to welcome her in. "To what do I owe this unparalleled delight?"

"I missed you," she admits freely, resting a hand in his and stepping inside. Leaning closer for a moment, she adds, "but I don't think I need an excuse."

"Hardly," he purrs back, slipping his other arm around her waist. "I always enjoy your visits."

"I should hope so." How cozy! Ali lets him draw her a half-step closer, her smile growing in increments. "So, what exciting things are happening today? Do you have any dragons in need of slaying, or damsels in need of distressing?"

"No dragons," he replies, "and only one damsel, though I've ideas of how to distress her." He chuckles, low and sensual. "I was just resting when you came to call."

Ali flushes faintly, looking at Jareth through her lashes. She can guess what his ideas entail. "Then perhaps we should do something restful."

"Why, it's as though you read my mind," he purrs, as in a twinkling they are in his chambers.

Ali smiles, letting her eyes drift around the room to see what it is today. Then she draws back, sitting on the edge of the bed and leaning back on her hands to watch him. "Perhaps. Do you think it goes both ways?"

Today, it's a colonnade overlooking the vast sprawl of the labyrinth, through which breezes blow. Diaphanous curtains billow where they are hung between the columns, and that same breeze tugs enticingly at his hair and robe. "Mm, perhaps you should tell me if you're thinking what I think you're thinking."

She laughs at that, shaking her head a bit. "I think you're not overly concerned with privacy today, so let's talk instead."

"Oh?" he asks, joining her on the edge of the bed. "What shall we talk about?"

Ali stretches out her legs, then crosses her ankles. "Oh, we could talk about the weather, the garden, the goblins... I'd like to get to know about you better."

"To know me better?" he asks. "But I still know so little of you."
