i'm having a spell of writer's bloc when it comes to writing blogs. i'm just not very intrinsically motivated to spend the necessary time to sit here and do it. mainly because my days so far in this virgining new year has been spent in other great activity. i have a new job, which i really like. ironically it's at a hospital. i got a job working at a hospital right after i moved out. it was a privately-owned, poorly funded kinda gritty joint. i worked in the medical records department as a beaurocratic barrier between people and their medical files that are rightfully theirs. so i got fired one day for releasing information without the proper procedures, which would've taken days. but sometimes you have a moral obligation to bend and break rules that are unfair. civil disobedience. the new hospital i work at is a lot better. it's corporate-owned and the departments can share information easily. it's as if the hospital has it's own patriot act. i work at the education center. my main job is being a receptionist in the department of organizational learning. we have like take-home-test certification as an alternative for taking classes. they're a joke. residential nurses can get every single question wrong and still receive credit. then i fill out a certificate printed on regular colored paper. people go nuts for these but they're completely worthless. though most people want some sort of paper document proving they did something. but for the most part it's a pretty sweet job, despite the tremendous load of paperwork. this hospital gives away all sorts of crazy benefits to its employees. i can take tai chi, yoga, or meditation classes for free. along with other classes that the hospital offers. they also have mad healthy fresh food that i get a mad discount on. i have relatively little supervision as my boss is in another office by sunset place and gives me instructions over the phone. she pops in periodically. my day goes by incredibly quick. i think i might settle down with this job and stay awhile. it's mad close to my house too.
no school this semester. plans for spring/summer concerts/travelling are hatching. i want to see the flaming lips in march, then go to europe in may. i need to go away for like 2-3 weeks. i have the money to throw down, so it's time to live it up.
